There was this really weird time in NZ politics about 10 years ago where political blogs became really influential, and the influential was one called Whale Oil, run by the NZ equivalent of someone like Rush Limbaugh. It is/was a reference to this and always made me cringe as the media here still occasionally refer to Whale Oil.

I like Kevin Smith, which isn't the same thing as liking his output (which I liked as a teenager, but find shockingly ameturish now). He seems like a sincere guy who is living his best life and he kind of reminds me of my best friend who is just checked out of drama and plays video games, drinks coffee and collects action figures because who loving cares? Is he sometimes corny? Sure, but so are you.

I don't think it's particularly fair for posters to tell Sarah Silverman what she should or shouldn't be offended or angry about. She gives as good as she gets and there's a lot of people who find her material and act offensive or off putting so, you know, I think all that just goes with a comedian for the most part. If she's OK with LCK or Corolla I'm not gonna sit here and explain to her why she should be or tell her she's wrong.
