Tell me your car is an undrivable "show" car without telling me your car is an undrivable "show" car. Good luck balancing that wheel, just as a beginning.

Was driving to my folks yesterday. Got passed by a motorcyclist, wind blowing their shirt up, the gun stuffed into the waist of their jeans exposed. No holster or anything. I don't know poo poo about guns, how worrying is it for something like that to just fire into their butt/bike? Or I guess vibrate and fall out? Holsters do two major things. First they keep the gun attached to you, how well varies but a lot better than tucked into belt. Second they cover the trigger. A bit of clothing and a tug = bang. Lots of people shoot themselves in the leg, dick, or butt when holstering or tucking a gun into their waste band this way. If there's no round in the chamber it's safe. If there is and it has a manual safety it's safe so long as the safety is engaged. If it doesn't have a manual safety it will have a trigger safety that a t-shirt can bypass. If he's dumb enough to ride a motorcycle with an upholstered pistol he's dumb enough to do everything else as wrong as possible too.

Is that.... the "official" way to lift that for battery removal? Because that's sketchy as hell, I'd like that adapter plate to maybe be about three times wider, but I don't know if that would interfere with the bodywork to the outside. And how is it attached to the vehicle? Edit: ok, so they fit into some slots and then bolt in place. What's stopping them from being slightly taller and much wider at the bottom, just for more lift pad engagement space? Reminds me of the Tesla "pucks" which all seem too drat small in diameter, relative to the space they occupy under the vehicle. PitViper fucked around with this message at 20:09 on Jul 24, 2022 |

You know those videos of people going into parking garages overheight, ignoring the bar, and then wrecking poo poo? My girlfriend just tried to do that, would have done that if I wasn't there. We whanged the warning pipe with the kayak carriers, and she just kept driving because she had no idea what the loud noise and car shaking was, and then tried to insist that we continue into the garage because she couldn't turn around. (We ended up backing out). She's a fine driver on the road, but her stress and anxiety make her scary as poo poo when she drives in the city.

Guess VIN encoding goes out the window when it comes down to software upgrades/downgrades defining the particular model.

If you read the thread, Tesla did the upgrades so it's more like if you took your ecoboost Mustang to the Ford Dealer for a warranty engine replacement, all they had in stock was Coyote motors so they put one in there, then you sell it as a 'dealer upgraded V8 Mustang" and then 2 owners later the dealership disables 4 of the cylinders and detune it when it was in for an oil change then ask you for the upgrade price it would have cost as a new car to re-enable the 4 cylinders.

I've read the thread and what it says is Tesla put in a 90 battery under warranty and mistakenly didn't software lock it to 60 as is their procedure. Is it also their procedure to accidentally stick a 90 badge on the back too? Thread doesn't say Tesla badged it that way, just "Car is sold twice since, and now has a new owner (my customer). It says 90, badged 90, has 90-type range."

Weird you're focusing on the owner applied badge when the car for all intents and purposes was turned into a 90 by Tesla. Should Tesla (or any manufacturer) be allowed to gently caress over a customer years after they've upgraded the car for a previous one? The answer is no and this sets an incredibly lovely precedent if people just shrug their shoulders. Anyway, happy ending? https://twitter.com/wk057/status/1552310322077339649?s=20&t=1QckpLo-F-UsnOJLwzUcOQ And speaking of lovely precedents in the car world, data collection and sale of it to third parties.
