The idea of phases seems much more vague without an Avengers movie or an Avengers-level movie at the end of it. I haven't read the spoilers for Wakanda Forever though so I could be missing something.

I think they arbitrarily are just ending Phase 4 and Thunderbolts will be the Avengers equivalent movie for Phase 5, that's my hope.

Thunderbolts should totally be some dumb "We made our OWN Avengers 100% American OOHRAH" stuff that falls apart worse than Justin Hammer's mechs. Oh yeah bring back Hammer!

I think the unofficial subtitle for Phase 4 could be “Grieving” so Phase 5 could be the point where we begin to move on. But really I imagine it’s just that Phase 4 has been going for awhile and Covid messed up timing and Disney+ has changed the approach and they like those timeline images so just start a new Phase. It’s just an arbitrary marketing device.

I'm curious who they'll get to do Avengers 5 and 6. The Russos got a long audition for Infinity War and Endgame. Kind of seemed like they were setting Watts up before he bailed. I guess Gunn would be the guy if they followed the pattern.
