On the HBOMAX app, I have a list of “continue watching” things that I haven’t finished. Except that they’re all just movies I stopped when the credits starts. There’s no way to remove them from the list that I can tell and they don’t drop off or time out or whatever. So now I have this bigass list of things I’m probably not gonna continue watching that I can clear unless I go through and ffwd through all the credits. Dumb!!!

I think you have to log in on a browser then you click the actual words "continue watching" and it will show your list along with an edit button. I don't think it exists on the app, or at least not on the devices I own, so I'm lucky that I watch in a browser about half the time. I still never remove stuff but at least I know I can.

That happens to me all the time with Plex, but at least there's a "Mark as Watched" button (that I have to press every time).

Edgar Allen Ho posted:Showing passwords instead of ********** should be the default I love the ones where you have to press the button to see the password... and it only shows while you hold down the button. Typing in passwords on a Hololens is the absolute loving worst, because it's easy to mistype, the only feedback is audio, and you have to try to hold a virtual button floating in midair to show your password for a while. It's especially genius because it's just not possible for anyone else to see said password being typed in anyhow, unless you're screensharing/casting. The password being obfuscated is completely pointless on a screen nobody else can see. lobsterminator posted:It's 2022. But other people I see their reg date and wonder how I've never noticed we post on all the same threads for the last twenty years. Brawnfire posted:Anyone who expects me to remember biographical information about other posters, from gender and location all the way to career and posting history. Hello, I'm going to sort of just meander about a sort of nostalgic associative anecdote related to Brawnfire's observation. TL;DR: Who here has made sustained connections with others through these forums? I first registered for these forums in 2000, and I think I'd just turned 16, but I might still have been 15. That was also during a time I was posting on Interplay's Fallout message board, and a Starsiege: Tribes message board and some other message boards, and out of those forums grew many friendships, and some of those people I still speak to and have met and hung out with even twenty-two years later, excluding somethingawful. I have absolutely spent more time on these forums, even in those days, than I did any other, and yet I've never gotten to know really a single loving one of you. Like, I can recall certain names of people with whom I've interacted with -- Lowtax, of course, who got me fired from my online job in a bizarre way in 2000, unrelatedly, just days after I'd registered for the forums, and Cowcaster who used to be like a bizarrely amazing person at Unreal Tournament 2004 because he'd only use the shield gun, which is the default backup bullshit weapon you start with, and he'd fuckin annihilate everyone, and Alt+F4 and others, okay, but like individually, save for a lot of messages on ICQ in the early 00s with Lowtax, I've never gotten to know a single one of you. Meanwhile through other forums I got to know some people who I still know today, some who have died, some I've met and others not but am still in regular contact with all these years. What does this mean regarding somethingawful? I've always considered this place to be a Real Special Place, a place of nonstop creativity, a place of constant evolution of social, micro-and-macro, but is that I'm just talking into The Void and The Void talks back? I would love to know actually how many real personal connections have been made on somethingawful. We have a twenty and more year history, and literally hundreds of thousands of users, so surely people have gotten to know each other in some way, real relationships created. gently caress what time is it credburn has a new favorite as of 07:51 on Jul 30, 2022 |
