Wrapping my 3DS collection. Bought a bunch of physical games super cheap yesterday: Link Between Worlds, DKC: Returns, and Codename Steam (5 euro!). They were all less than the going price digital. I also got Kirby Sidegames for the GB: Pinball, Breakout, and Star Stacker (some sort of block puzzle game). I got Wariolands 1-3 and a the last of Theatrhythm DLC I wanted. Oh and OoT, since I think the 3DS version is probably better than the original on Switch, or at least more convenient. All that's left now is a cheap copy of Luigi's Mansion 1 and 2, cheap NES Remix, and maybe Wooly World.

Still wish they'd popularize the concept of cover plates over special edition models, $300 always gold Majora's Mask 3DS that your finger oils eventually destroy... or... $30 swappable covers Like the Game Boy Micro, it is too good for this world

Yes but then how would they get people to buy like 5 $300 3DSes? And of course they need to keep their monopoly on the cool merch by making it part of the console because otherwise anybody with an Etsy store could be making a profit off of Nintendo's console and that would truly be terrible.

Is there a generally recommended replacement stylus that fits the new3dsXL slot? A few come up in amazon listings but I dunno if one of these otherwise suspicious brands is better or if there's somewhere else I should look.

You should be fine with whatever is the highest rated one. Amazon is pretty cool with returns if there’s any issues so you should fine if they end up being poo poo. I tried looking up the last ones I bought and it’s crazy how fast official 3DS accessories are disappearing. Glad I got a new official battery when I did.

I like these metal extendable ones, they're much more comfortable to hold than the original stylus, but it seems like the ones for the n3DSXL are hard to come by now

I thiiiink the dimming filter was instituted because they didn't have the time/budget to go through each rom, modify it for potential seizure causes, and certify them all. And since the compatibility layer is totally hardware with no emulation capacity, they couldn't get conditional anti-seizure safety measures running.
