There's a kid named IslandGoSAMe that's pretty cool to watch, but streams pretty infrequently. He's a combo of good at pioneer and also seems to still genuinely enjoy playing. There's definitely been a few streamers I've had to stop watching because I've caught myself unconsciously mimicking the "high voice to bottomed out vocal fry" inflection at FNM and died a little inside.

did you happen to catch him when he drafted Arcane Bombardment, his favorite card, and went in on making a hilariously stupid 5-color deck, or a different 5-color pile? He's extremely upbeat most of the time, one of the most intensely positive and optimistic streamers I watch.

he's not a pro mtg player but he focuses more on entertainment than optimization, and at that he excels.

if you've only checked out a little of his stuff, here's some recent recommends:

Have they announced more for Magic 30? They said tickets would go on sale in July along with some more details but I've not seen.

Is anyone else thinking of going? I'm happy for an excuse to go to Vegas, although I can't decide if I should stay on the strip or downtown nearer to the event.

Not a lot of new news, no - there’s actually been a big commander event announced in Utah like 2 weeks after Vegas and it seems like a LOT of artists and Magic personalities are attending that. Maybe instead? Idk

Yes. But the reason they stopped in the first place was mostly to eliminate the lifetime invite benefits for hall of famers which they’ve accomplished so it served its purpose.

i never said that catchphrases are "meaningless". what i said, and even clarified explicitly this, is simply that content creators use them because, apparently, viewers like them. i assume viewers like them because ALL the most popular content creators do it, even Nizzahon

the only specific one i mentioned was how Seth drags "saff-ron ooooooolliiiiiiiiive" to take 10 seconds to say, which is mostly annoying because he says it in the same annoying way every time. it's not the words he says, so much as the cadence, which makes it seem like he's a robot

now, contrast that with someone like Colbert or John Oliver or other late night hosts. they often say the same thing every show, but the crucial difference is that they usually vary it up just a little bit, either in content or cadence, often in reaction to the audience. youtubers don't do that, which makes it super annoying.
