Having observed several faction wars events, I'm of the opinion that dwarves indeed suck hard in mp domination or land battle. They usually get defeated in the first or second round of the event and have never made it to the final round. It's not because their units are found to be lacking, it is because they are predictable as gently caress. You don't have proper army variety when playing dwarves. Also, factions like skaven hard counter them. Other factions that are predictable (like Brettonia) have mobility on their side so they at least fare a lil better.

Three main ones. -Grungni, their main creator god and god of mining/forging/all that traditional dwarf stuff. -Valaya, wife of Grungni and goddess of the hearth and home. She's also the goddess of wisdom because she invented the dwarf language. -Grimnir, brother of Grungni and warrior god. He's the one the Slayers swear to and is a general god of rear end kicking. There's some lesser ones too that nobody gives a poo poo about.

daemon soul battles though you capture each point then defend it one at a time, rather than holding all three at once. also you don't win by holding the points, they just spawn the armies that you have to destroy to actually win (six armies in total!)

Mmm, the entire valley of humanity colored pox green except for my buddy Skragg and his 3 provinces ready to help me wage war everywhere else in the world. That was a nice campaign. The new victory cons make it a bit easy to spontaneously win as the WoC factions since "spread a lot of corruption to 50 places" can happy very passively but I just kept going and wiped the empire of man out. Ironically I still got dinged by a loving Tzeentch scheme. Mods disabled Halt and Steal Settlement... but not Force War! It didn't come up for 120+ turns but... yup, absolutely no counter play, made me enemies with strong former allies, a nearly impossible quagmire to get out of without having like 6 digits in gold banked. gently caress off, birds! Double ironically Ogres are insanely bad outpost buddies because you can't outpost in their camps and their settlements offer nothing but Gnoblars and Bulls. Booooo. That combined with the Camp recruitment bug of Bulls only really puts a damper on buddying around with the truest neutral guys in the game.

I play with a bunch of mods but they're all tweaks or graphical stuff, never felt the need to delve into the ones that really shake up how the game works. My plan to fix the dwarves: to address their poor running speed, make them taller, longer strides excess facial hair weighs them down, make them clean shaven living in mines and caves constrains them, put them on an island with sunlight and open air ears not dangerous enough, give them a point to stab with.

Give them a Long Distance Runner racial ability, giving a bonus to speed when they've been running for more than 5 seconds, or while there are no enemies within a moderate range. Keeps their low tactical speed as a valid racial weakness, but lets them keep up when doing larger scale movements, so they can participate in domination battles better

Just means it won't be even less as often after prolonged movement or some fighting. Dawi just need something for battlefield maneuvering that won't also just let them put their super durable infantry in the most opportune spots at will.

The problem isn't capture weight or you'd just throw like 3 Miners into reinforcements on every build. The problem is Dwarves have to set their feet down, hold ground and shoot to really be dangerous, they can be picked apart for doing it, they can't do it in critical mass without giving up two points for an auto loss and being kited to death and if you go slayer heavy you see a bunch of enemy reinforcements that are good at mulching slayers. Also lol no magic. Compare this to other one note factions that are doing fine in domination, or even very similar factions that do better than Dwarves. Vamp Coast and Cathay were rated low but still have more flexibility and mobility. Empire is very similar but has fantastic flexibility. Khorne, Nurgle and Slaanesh are all "one notes" without that one note being Great Ranged, but you can't really box a good Slaanesh player in on any one factor other than "at least they have to be in melee." They have a good toolbox and their strengths let them overcome their weaknesses, especially since one of their strengths if amazing mobility.
