If it weren't for the shameless nostalgia play, No Way Home would be a garden variety boring stupid movie

Rogue One was like the last Star Wars media I really liked not done by the Auralnauts. This might be the first Star Wars live-action show I watch.

Man, I still want the crazy live-action series Lucas wrote. At least let me purchase a book of the scripts!

I mean, not really? Even if you want to go back to the beginning of Mando in 2019 - still close to 3 years ago - rather than the acquisition, we're talking not far off what one season of a regular broadcast TV show airs in a year. And it's all confined to one service that doesn't eat up a TV schedule. It's literally the easiest thing in the world to avoid if you don't care for it.

People getting mad about the amount of Star Wars shows exist better not look at how many spinoffs of 90 Day Fiancé there are, you might have an aneurysm.

The only good Star Wars are the original trilogy, Rogue One, TLJ and a 2 hour fanedit of the entire prequel trilogy that my xbmc would keep downloading a Korean porno's cover art for.

Television is the retina
of the mind's eye.
Regarding Spiderman...

I thought the end was poignant - the character has had two important people in his life die, he's obviously hurting, and yet he makes the heroic choice to cut himself off from everyone else he knows and loves. If they wanted to add Venom to the Spiderman story at this point it wouldn't be a bad choice - developing a bond with another being that literally gives you thicker skin seems natural...

No Way Home was an extremely, extremely bad movie. It also had some terrific moments in it.

While we're at it I would also like a book of the Young Indiana Jones scripts written for the canceled 4th season please thank you :colbert:

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed No Way Home, though in the end it feels really utilitarian in how it totally wipes the Marvel connection from Movie Spider-Man.

No Way Home made a lot more sense to me when I found out it was supposed to come out after Multiverse of Madness, and that America was supposed to be opening the portals to the other Peter Parkers, not Ned. Ned suddenly having wizard powers was a really weird "duct tape fix" kind of decision.

It's still not great, but the high points can carry me through it. I can't help but think I should be enjoying Dafoe in it more than I do, though. A lot of it feels like a greatest hits compilation, actually.

Molina still kills it, though.

4: A New Hope, Force Awakens, it's basically the same movie
5: Jedi
6 to whatever: A bunch of them

Rise of Skywalker doesn't qualify.

Oh my I forgot about this. My old production company made this (with a logo very similar to your av). I left when it was in preproduction. The script is really fun. Originally had Joel McHale playing the lead I believe.

Also weird that the Michael Flatley movie looks like it is being weighed down by Eric Roberts, not the Lord of the Dance.

I *think* it was actually written pre-COVID but can't remember (and then just naturally lent itself to a perfect thing to shoot during Covid).

Anyway, fun fact, they got permission to shoot on the Natchez Trace in Mississippi which is notoriously very hard to do even for much bigger productions.

This is amazing. It has the same air of misguided self-importance about it as those bargain-bin 80s sci-fi movies starring a kickboxing champion, where the producers assumed that the audience would walk in thinking that they're the biggest badass on the planet but in reality nobody has ever heard of them.

This reminds me of the gangster movies Frank D'Angelo made for himself. He's a Canadian beverage tycoon who decided he wanted to write and direct and be the star of a bunch of gangster films and was able to rope in legit actors.

Lol I worked with one of the producers of this about two years before they made it. He was an armourers assistant. He helped fund a short film about WW2 Flatley made before, and then got to basically gently caress about in the Caribbean for a few months. Lovely.
