Alex was always more worried about the CT case, he did less loving around with representation here (even if Norm Pattis is not an ideal choice in any scenario) and launched this most recent bankruptcy sham to avoid this trial specifically.

Sounds like he's essentially trying to do a proper business valuation of Free Speech Systems, LLC. He specifically mentioned that despite FSS's low net income, they make an awful lot of money because between wages and interest payments, a lot of it just flows out directly to Alex. In business valuation, you usually adjust for that because those kinds of financing decisions are outside the actual scope of the operations. Edit: It's also why Reynal is objecting to the non-financial information, because a lot of FSS's inherent worth comes from Jones being in charge and part of the organization. No Jones, that value disappears.

The entire testimony is also trying to say that not only is Jones wealthy, but he's far more than just some humble free-speech warrior. If you truly believe you're fighting the good fight, you're not going to do so much to shelter all of that money from scrutiny.

^^^1000%. Jones fully knows how the media will report on him and helps him out. Any news is good news is very apt for Jones. He knows attention is what keeps him going. I guess a hope after this is that in the future cases they will be able to bring all this finicial stuff up at the start and throughout prior to deliberations

I have definitely side eyed the media throughout this at times. Some is very “that wacky Alex Jones again! A cad he is!”, and ignoring some lovely choices and events that lead us to this point. I understand not wanting to veer too hard into misery porn, but I still feel that we are not looking at a huge, looming problem of “why are we allowing these types of behaviors just go on and on”.

Hey I watched the trial and the jury decision and I base my whole understanding of justice on the outcomes of trials of white dudes with more money than God and let me say that I am disappointed in this outcome and my worldview is shattered and there is no justice and nothing matters and somebody's gonna quote this saying "this but unironically" and I assure you, I assure you that this is unironic and no I won't log off and no my feet won't touch grass and no you shut the gently caress up dad
