Also, there's presumably a lot of mileage in having links to Nadine Dorries when she's - and this bears repeating because otherwise at some point I'll assume it's fake - the Culture Secretary.

In defence of this being in the news, children dying is one of the last great taboos in our society.

As a species we are designed to try and completely blank out the idea that kids die, which is why we as a society never talk about it.

The figures are close to about 1 in 4 pregnant women will suffer a miscarriage during the course of their life. But it's only recently that it is being in any way discussed.

That's why children dying and any form of tragedy with children attracts so much magnification.

If they're going to omit key details or worse replace them with deliberate conjecture I'd rather they didn't bother.

It could have been a discussion point about childhood mental health and instead it's just a new round of the yellow man's appium.

Infant mortality has gone from being the norm to vanishingly rare over the course of a century. Gains in life expectancy have much more to do with the eradication of childhood disease than improved geriatric care (although that has improved as well). Go back a couple of hundred years, and anybody surviving to adulthood has a pretty good chance of making it to threescore and ten, it was the ones who didn't make it that far that kept the average life expectancy figures down.

I feel like something is going to happen that voids the whole trial or something its really weird seeing some who really, really deserves it get theirs it doesn't feel real to me.

But also hearty lol at his useless legal team for accidentally submitting a copy of all the data on Alex's phone then not doing anything to get it back or even telling Alex about the error until the prosecution began putting up slides showing his own texts and emails and started pointedly asking if he understood what Perjury is.

Turns out it wasn't an image of his phone it was a backup of another lawyer's hard drive who was working on a parallel legal case and had more than just an image of his phone, including medical records, which the plaintiff (the lawyer for the Sandy Hook parents) said he was filing sanctions on the defence lawyer for leaking illegally.

Also the defence claimed he did try to get them back on the day but the judge was like "yes I saw your email it didn't invoke privilege"

My mum had four miscarriages and i never heard a word mentioned in the family until she was dead and buried, probably explains why he was so very overprotective with me.

All that messed with her head a bit and had the knock-on effect of messing with mine to a degree (don't wrap your children in cotton wool, let them live ffs).

Can't blame her for that tbh, having all that happen to her in the 1950s with no mental support would distort anyones life.

I don't think he even has to do the oddity of accepting a crown office, if he's just going to no longer sit as MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip and instead wants to run for the seat of MP for Mid Bedfordshire then he can just do it.

If he specifically wants to run as the Conservative Party candidate for Mid Beds then he needs the party to sign off on it, according to whatever conditions they have, but at no point does he need to kowtow to anything as low down and common as actual people, voters, citizens, or so-called political processes.

Back in the 18th century the Whig and Tory members for places where 90% of the people couldn't even vote would sometimes debate me bro in the market square, because that shows that we're a democracy where ideas are aired in public.

And smh if you start complaining how that had anything at all to do with a county with two derelict chapels and sixteen people having more votes than Manchester, lol.

I have been to Cuba, the whole place was loving amazing. Probably the best thing we did was a walking tour with a student, he was unbearably upbeat about how great Cuba was for the first half, and then his minder left and we went to a rooftop bar and drank mojitos while he moaned about being forced to clap.
