SMBC is very much written for people who want to feel smart without putting in much effort. It still occasionally does something good, and just often enough for me to keep it in my feeds, but that could definitely change at any point.

 Now it's actually time to step away from little Shirley, because next up are two oneshots from Mori that were included in the same Shirley book. To nobody's surprise, they contain maids. They also come up in the afterword, so it would be odd to skip them, and I'm not gonna keep extra Mori from you. While they're technically unrelated to Shirley, there's not really anything preventing them from taking place in the same continuity (and on that note, as an aside, while Mori has to my knowledge never said anything about it, there's not actually anything keeping Shirley and Emma from taking place in the same continuity either). First up, we've got An Afternoon with Nelly and Me!        We've got a real little charmer here (though "little sir" would have better been translated as "young master", imo). And our main maid Nelly in this story is, at least design-wise, definitely a proto-Emma:
