That said, you're also correct, because there is an optical illusion here, it's just misstated. Here are the four door panels (in english reading sequence) � they're clearly different, but none of them are the same color as how you'd perceive the car, which is the illusion. The car with the greenish panel (in a vacuum) looks red, etc.

Probably from his Life of Brian experiences where he (or at least one of the Pythons, pretty sure it was Cleese) talked about how one of the Priests or whomever they had on a show to mock outrage broke kayfabe immediately after the cameras cut and how it disgusted him.

Either way Cleese is definitely one of those dudes who didn't get told "no" enough when he was young so now that he's aged out of relevance he's having a hard time adjusting. :qq:
