it sounds like the full Saban pilot has been found

The footage of this is a wild look into an alternate reality. it’s shot exactly like all of the Power Rangers-alike shows I watched as a kid and then morphs into X-Men but with Sailor Scouts. It feels like something that definitely could have existed.

Now I want someone to make this for Dragonball or Gundam, if something like this had succeeded we could have had some horrifying abominations. (I think Pokémon would have still made the leap as a dub and kickstarted the anime boom, although I don’t know if Toonami would ever had been a thing.)

Not as great as the Battle or 06 dubs but farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr better than the Riders dub. There's a couple of parts they really should have just cut to edit it down from an hour, but it didn't meander around desperately trying to find a bit that sticks (or wasn't being beaten beyond the point of death by that pair they jettisoned from the group) as in the Rider dub either.

Alfred's Eggman remains GOAT.

I donno, I liked it the least out of all the ones I've watched. I ended up skipping parts rather than letting it play. I think it's cause of the way the game works, there's no consistent buildup of insane poo poo, it's always being deliberately reset. The two routes of Adventure were different enough that it felt like it was able to ignore a reset, but this time it was specifically going back to the beginning.

Black Doom had a consistently funny intro, though, I always laughed at how he popped into scenes.

I liked Korra overall but seasons 1 and 2 were really really rough. If you found the old topics I probably would be vocal about my dislike of those seasons. Seasons 3 and 4, though, are top-notch. Lib-brained politics aside, they were filled with really good character writing, action and stories.

Not exactly the same thing but they did attempt to make an American Gundam cartoon. It was a SD version called Doozy Bots about kids who transformed into SD versions of Gundams. The funniest part was since it was the early 90s their attempt at inclusivity had a kid in a wheelchair who turned into a Guntank.

Took a quick skim through the video, production values totally feels like a Journeyman 3-era Presto game.

Apparently the No Jumper guy has some baggage (I didn’t look into it but I saw something in the comments about credible sexual assault allegations, and obviously the culture vulture stuff Andrew presses him on), but I think this is a really great interview with Andrew and Nick from Channel 5. It’s a long one - they get into specifics of content, the ethics of certain types of content / the level the which it’s exploitative, whether or not certain people or groups should be platformed, and more.

I’ve seen Andrew interviewed by a few folks now and this might have been my favorite. I’m really excited for his movie to come out.

Bringing up Jenny's Vampire Diaries video and remembering what that show eventually settled on being has me wondering, what show is king of 'dangerous villains are redeemed and now the good guy side is even stronger for it' beyond that? Because as far as I can remember they had like 8 people that never actually joined them long term and just got killed and stayed dead.

What even is RWBY's target audience?

It's been almost 10 years, who is it marketed to besides already obsessed former tumblr shippers? Who see trailers and ads for the new seasons (also where lol) and thinks "hey, let's check out this ~american anime~" then immediately stops because the first season has literally nothing happen and episodes are either 4 minutes or 15 minutes with the same amount of content.

It's honestly just this guy and the SAO Abridged team who are left doing this anymore, though I've got no idea why they're still going. TFS tapped out partly due to exhaustion, but also because continuing to make and profit from DBZ Abridged got them greylisted from the dubbing industry, so it seems like continuing to make Abridged parodies will only hurt these people in the long term when so much of the recent content feels more like they're making demo discs for getting into the dubbing industry rather than riffs on the material they're dubbing over.

It's just children and the remaining RT fans who've got nothing better to do. Plus the show's free to watch, so it's got a way easier entry barrier than paying subscription fees to Crunchyroll or Netflix.
