ninja edit - maybe it wasn't dark forces? none of the screenshots look right.
Dark Forces owns, you're probably thinking of Rebel Assault or something. Maybe Shadows of the Empire?

Shadows of the Empire is ok, but that's coming from an N64 kid who didn't have a PC suitable for "modern" games in the mid 90s, so maybe the PC port is bad? .

I did eventually play the Rebel Assault games, and that is probably what you're thinking. They just on-rails/cover shooters (and "flying" that is also just on-rails) with fancy FMV cut scenes.

I subscribe to the idea that The Mighty DASH RENDAR’s exploits are all exaggerated and he isn’t nearly the hotshot he made himself out to be. Like he heard about the Millennium Falcon and was all, “yeah well my Outrider goes like ‘whooosh’ and I’m shooting them TIE fighters like ‘pew pew’ and… hey guys wait up”

Speaking of Cartoon Network and its late night block, I will always appreciate Adult Swim for introducing me to Gorillaz and Daft Punk after that one night where they just aired animated music videos. Although I'm pretty sure this was 2001, but whatever I'm counting it

apropos of nothing I think it’s pretty funny that Billy Corgan became a middle aged dude with spicy opinions about snowflakes and people with too many feelings and whatnot when all of his best songs are about how he’s a little boy inside and what a sad and hurt little boy he is/was
