Also you don’t have to play that mode. I’m sure Nintendo will use data from this to adjust things but I still think it’s fair for the defending side. I think the issue some had is forgetting that it’s still a turf war battle and staying put in the middle. From watching a pro player yesterday I learned you can roll cancel both the squid roll and the squid jump. The squid jump roll cancel is especially crazy because you can roll onto the platform or away from it leaping into a position on the ground below.

Had fun with the splatfest last night, as little as I got to play. While the game is still mostly the same as Splatoon 2, there are lots of little changes here there that make the experience much better. I especially like how matchmaking works now.

I really like all the new stuff from the demo, and am stoked as hell for the full game. It’s a small complaint but I really hope they don’t keep that same gender/species/eye/skin selection process. I liked changing my stuff up over and over throughout the day but it took foreeeeever.

Jfc, the main thing that demo did was solidify my desire for S3. I need it. I want to upgrade my weapons, buy a poo poo ton of gear, completely customize my locker and look at everyone else's, and play the card game. Oh, and actually play Splatoon, as well. I had a ton of fun playing, but I wanna do the other stuff even more.

The solo player mode from the Treehouse seems to follow the Octo Expansion model of stages you pay to play and then can try with different weapons. Which is fine. Well, I do love Splattershot Jr and conversely can probably play a mean Aerospray, their loadout seems fine. N'Zap 85 seems alright, and I was never too bad with those... and all because I my beloved Tri-slosher is stuck with an Inkjet which I simply do not manage well, Slosher gets the bazooka, and don't they get that I play those weapons specifically because I'm not precision based! The Blobobbler has a great kit, but I don't like that bucket. I need to see a bucket with a better kit. At least the undercoverbrella looks neat. I was never great at it, but I like what it's packing.

Splat2 had 48 weapons at release including the alternates and hero replicas. Splat3 is starting with 54 without any alternates or single player weapons. (That we know of right now.) Undercover Brella now has Mr Dolphin, aka Reef slider. Interesting. Though that means less clutch kills if someone corners me as I can't do the splashdown anymore
