For technique the Huddlestone one is special. Really hard to hit a half volley that pure and straight like that.

I seem to remember Huddlestone only scoring screamers the few times he did score. Is my memory somewhat correct?

It's quite literally all I can remember about him other than him playing for Hull and Spurs.

Oh, and apparently he's now a Manchester United U-21 player/coach.

Scholes for me, although Huddlestone's was probably the most difficult take.

Lol that Tim Howard is in goal for 3 of those and Lampard and Drogba's goals were in the same match (in which Howard also had an OG).

Coward refs too afraid to award indirect free kicks on the goal line nowadays. Sad!

bring them in for any in-box foul that wasn't a dogso imo

The second to last one is incredible

When was the last indirect free kick in the box in the premier league? I can’t remember seeing one recently, so

Adrian Chiles is a broadcaster and writer
there was an indirect free kick in the champions league a few years back that I'm sure was caused by a player chipping the ball up into the air and heading it back to his keeper who caught it and would you believe it that still counts as a back pass

Salah should be embarrassed to be there with that goal. It's good but surely there were better ones scored that year

lmao

quote:

Until 2018, the winner was decided completely based on voting by fans on FIFA's official website.[3] However, after a controversy in the 2018 award,[4] FIFA changed the procedure. Now, the award is decided by pundits selected by FIFA, who will choose the winner based on the top three goals voted for by the public.

It was so obviously a biased voting that they literally changed how the award was given

Here's the nominees from that year... yeah Salah's was the worst of a good bunch

Yeah, Salah has a goal like that every other weekend, it was fine but nothing Puskas quality.

The real crime was that goal somehow beating Pavard’s volley in the World Cup, which I guess probably prompted the change.

I still don't know how Riley McGree didn't win it that year, just the audacity to even attempt a scorpion kick like that is incredible.

Though Messi's was probably worth a shout seeing as it gave Maradona a heart attack

iirc, egyptians were spamming every online fan vote thing. I think there was some routine tap-in in the CL that got picked as goal of the week at one point

Still annoyed that that Rooney 'bicycle kick' that came off his shin was voted the best ever premier league goal. The public shouldn't be allowed to vote on these things, just ask me and I would have told them the correct answer, rod wallace v spurs in 1994

absolutely correct, only thing that stopped it being the perfect goal is he celebrated instead of turning back to continue arguing
