Guglielmo Marconi, father of radio, believed that sounds echoed forever. If only he had microphones and amplifiers powerful enough, he could tune in and hear Jesus deliver the Sermon on the Mount.

If only he had microphones and amplifiers powerful enough, he could tune in and hear Jesus deliver the Sermon on the Mount. There is a very interesting series of facts about the sinking of the Titanic related to Marconi's theory. The ship’s band apparently played music during and after the ship sank beneath the ocean. It has also been reported that signals were broadcasting to and from the liner as this was the occasion of the first major use of Guglielmo Marconi’s wireless telegraphy in sea rescue. An audio transducer was also attached to the hull of the ship in order to hear acoustic signals from underwater bells attached to floating buoys near coastal rocks. Applying Marconi's theory to these reports, musician Gavin Bryars theorized that the sound of the music the band played would reverberate underwater for eternity. He then wrote an incredible piece of music called The Sinking of The Titanic that was his interpretation of how that would sound. The live performance from 07 is one of my favorite pieces of music https://www.popmatters.com/gavin-bryars-the-sinking-of-the-titanic-2496155222.html

I dunno anything about cars, are those special tyres? They look wide.

They're off road/all terrain tires which would not normally be found on a street racer. Looks like the car has a suspension lift kit too allowing it to be taken on off road trails.

If you're into that poo poo, check out the Gambler 500 groups on Facebook and elsewhere. Also Safari All The Cars on Facebook, where people will literally turn anything into an off-road machine. Edit: That car has had some form of lift kit installed as well as modification to the body work to make all that fit. It's not hard to do, but hard to do and have it still look and drive correctly. And usually not cheap unless you happen to hang out in fabrication shops. Ironhead has a new favorite as of 20:50 on Aug 27, 2022 |

I'd never heard of it before, but it sounded intriguing. So the other night, I went out onto the balcony in the cold, wrapped in a blanket with a hot cup of tea, left the lights off, and spent an hour listening to this in the dark with the sound of the beach nearby and the distant lights of the next town. It was a really wonderful experience. 10/10
