Looks like it’s getting away from Serena

The amount of lines Tomljanovic is hitting is insane. How the gently caress is she unseeded

This is amazing and sad. What a career. What a legend.

Thank u Serena

drat. That was a hell of a final game, though.

She went down loving swinging. Goddammit I'm tearing up. You only get to see a few legends like that in a lifetime. Credit to Tomljanovic and all of her other opponents for playing so well despite a crowd rooting so heavily for them to fail.

Not much better of a way to go down than like that. No shame in losing that match.

Did they just say that that was the longest match ever played at the U.S. Open? goddamn

Those ladies were blasting off.

I think just Ajla's longest match. Maybe the longest third round match, though. Three-plus hours is not unheard of, especially for semi/finals. Margaret Court probably owes her a drink for preserving the Aussie record.

Serena seemed way more accepting of this being her last match then...everyone else in the world.

She really lost her legs in that third set, I think backing up from the Konaveit match probably did some of the damage. But also super happy for Ajla, she's been steadily improving over the past few years and her mental game is actually decent these days. Hopefully she gets seeded soon, she's had some rough draws and not getting those Wimbledon points has totally screwed her this year.

Props to kyrgios for having a full kicking and screaming meltdown, what looked like a fully debilitating injury, and beating the world #1

public opinion on Kyrgios flip-flops every time he stands on the court. This is a great opportunity for him to make a run at a GS title. He also gifted us a great meme gif from that Medvedev match

Alcaraz/Sinner battle of the future

Casper Ruud absolutely insane right meow against Berrettini. Ruud and Alcaraz got a shot at #1 Nadal #1 if neither of them make the final. EDIT: JINX! Ruud with a lot of unforced all of a sudden fancyclown fucked around with this message at 18:41 on Sep 6, 2022 |

If ATP250 vulture Casper Ruud is the year end number 1 that certainly will be something. To be fair for that to happen he will have to have reached 2 of 3 of the slam finals that actually mattered this year.

Covid has killed millions worldwide but it's also probably kept Djoker from winning more slams via vaccine requirements, so who's to say if it's good or bad really
