I 100%ed the first Spyro game, same with the second, third one I got like 80% of the side stuff done because so many of the character-specific gimmick orbs were just so bad. Whack-a-mole, snowboarding, escort quests, after I decided 'no I will not be doing this' with one it means I was free to reject any others that would be misery to complete. And the trolley was not one of them. I beat that in four? five? tries, took ten minutes.

I beat Aliens Fireteam Elite. It's fun. Nice little shoot 'em up. I do think they missed a trick by not having bosses, though.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Whatever. I got Shadow of Mordor GOTY edition on the prime free games thing (PC). I played like 6 hours of the non-GOTY version many years ago. After an hour in the GOTY edition... hey, this game is still pretty fun! I guess maybe I should finish it? Is Shadow of War better than Shadow of Mordor? What's new in it? I recall there was a huge shitstorm about microtransactions in it, but then like a couple years later they patched them out?

Shadow of War is just Too Much. It loses the intrigue of the first game and just becomes this massive grind. I burned out 2 areas in.

yeah Shadow of Mordor i think is the better game. the sequel adds some neat stuff but i agree its very grindy especially if you want to finish the story

Ultimately my biggest gripe with Fireteam is that there's a severe lack of variety when replaying missions; difficulty and challenge cards only do so much. There really needs to be a "new game+" that randomizes/remixes enemy spawns.

the combat is shadow of wardor is so limp. it’s that same lack of feedback in the older god of war games, where you’re hacking away at enemies but it feels like you’re cutting fog

Yeah it had a weird booster system which they tried to incentivize you to pay money into because after the whole campaign and the final boss there was that postgame that was basically you just doing another 20 siege battles to get the "true ending". Also lol the "true ending"

That part was still fun, really hope they get to use Nemesis in an original IP someday. The orcs in shadow of mordor were entertaining but lmao they're their own thing nothin to do with lotr really

The first game had the benefit of coming out in an absolutely dire year for games so it was hot poo poo even if it was supremely middling. The second game came out in a loving banger of a year for games so lol.
