I am interested in how the thread feels about military stuff moving forward - the missile one didn't result in any harm to anyone (I'm familiar with the video) but the helicopter crash definitely did I'm open to keeping it frowned upon but case-by-case, or it can just be a flat 'nope not worth it' - feel free to let me know here or via PM. I'd rather not just implement a rule without taking you guys' thoughts into consideration so please do provide your opinion!

I don't personally care about unseen death too much, either way, so the above ^^ preference is totally reasonable. Also, bloodlust is obviously bad, but most of the people I've seen claiming that about this thread have been lunatics that are the ones posting the worst things as a weird way of justifying their claims. What is really loving irritating is the people that Kramer into a post with a car crash and saying confidently that someone died in that, implying that they have researched it. And then after a two page derail, someone uncovers the news article that says everyone was fine. Like even in that situation, when there's no bloodlust, are people traumatised by seeing two vehicles hitting each other where you can't see anything? Taken to logical extremes, someone is dying in all the pictures of the Earth from space. I apologise in advance for the inevitable derail this is going to cause

As the original poster of the missile one, will share just a couple of thoughts: - did not intend for a derail, derails inherently take away from what I come to this thread for - I originally interpreted the clip as 'automatic missile did a u-turn and blew itself up, lol' vs 'idiots killed on camera' (I also assumed anti-missile stuff is automated so limited human impact) - no immediate harm/death imagery (no people directly in the video)

I, personally, don't mind it, but I think we should keep respecting the "no death/visible maiming." So something like the "benny hill" video that made the rounds a few days ago, where a terrified Russian tank driver bonked his tank into a tree trying to escape a single Ukrainian infantryman, would definitely qualify. Or at the very least, if someone feels they have a real knee-slapper of a story that does unfortunately involve a spectacular moron losing their head, keep it as a well-described clickthrough link rather than inlined.
