I feel like a lot of Putin’s mythos was built on “modernizing” the Russian army and yet their Cold War tactics and gear is absolutely getting its poo poo pushed in, and if there’s one thing that Russia has historically been good at, it’s weaponizing their historical trauma into finding new ways and venues to escalate with their foes. I don’t know what that looks like, but I do wonder how the strategic environment is going to look one, five and ten years from now.
