I'm fine with recipes that use unconventional ways to add some of their ingredients, they usually taste surprisingly fine (see miracle whip cakes). But Velveeta just seems so....Velveeta-y, the idea always weirds me out a bit

I have this old cookbook that’s Jack Daniel’s branded and supposedly written by the kitchen staff at the distillery and the Mac and cheese recipe in the book IIRC is to add some mustard powder to velveeta.

The chili my parents made for most of my life looked kinda like that and was very good. Lots of beans, very thick, and unsweetened chocolate giving it that dark color and some bitterness.
