Doesn't matter how much you crush unions when you don't pay enough to get people in there and then don't even bother making people literate enough to be imprisoned and trained. Anyone wanna bet inflation is locked in until it overcomes America's ability to shield it's companies and they finally find a boundary they can't ignore?

So, my wife is still overemployed! We're more than two months in now and she just got a glowing performance review from the old WFH job, and continued good feedback at the new in-person job. She's able to knock out the WFH job in 1-2 hours each night. For the record, it's $60k (WFH job for poo poo company) and $50k (cool in-person job) for a total of $110k (annualized). Getting paid every week instead of every other week is, apparently, nice. I think I'm going to make her take me out to dinner since this was my idea.

Try almost $200 and it’s like two moderately full bags of groceries and maybe some meat. Costco has 2 dozen pasture raised organic eggs for $7 and the organic berries and meats are still moderately priced. Although organic chicken went astronomical. Granted we shop at the organic co-op for most staples but the prices aren’t much better at Fred Meyers or qfc.

The funny thing they never mention now is the cost of living in HCOL areas. Which can’t be explained other than retailers charging more because they can and because they know people have money to pay for it.

the few bad inflation reports actually spiked the markets on the day of release under the logic that it was bad, but not crazy bad , and thus the fed would act within expected bounds. this is unexpected by a smidge and it’s total meltdown time.
