He could have simply said he could no longer participate, it was out of his hands, and handed a backup off to some lackey, optionally an incompetent one if he wanted to put the whole thing behind him. To be real? gently caress that site. Had friends and my partner in a constant state of anxiety and despair because they were tangentially (as in they interacted with the person once or twice) connected to one of their "targets". So much so that one had to scrub their entire online presence because they were being doxxed in the spirit of "well if they're associated with this bad person, they must also be equally bad" I had to trudge through hundreds of pages of their loving poo poo to do enough opsec to alleviate friends fears and direct them what information kf did have. All because they said hi to some person in passing. They're not some imaginary CIA agents in a clubhouse, they see only people to harass and will do everything to take that person down in a twisted sense of "justice". Its a poisonous mindset that they all seem to share. Wint put it best. You can't under any circumstances "gotta hand it to them"
