No, that's the terrible impaction he's referring to; the wall was obstructing his view. You're falling for his games! Obviously we need to present the Attorney's Badge, to show that we're a defense attorney and therefore had no motive for murdering our fellow attorney and mentor.

I'm trying to remember if you actually have to present the badge at some point. I think there's one case in which you do, but never having to do so would be very much in line with the game's sense of humor.

Part 33: Episode 2, Day 3, Trial: A Matter of Perspective Some contention on this choice, but the above image really says it all. Mr. White says left, when Miss May said right. (Yes, it would be easier if I re-showed all the evidence descriptions with each vote....but that would be too easy!) Music: Silence The music going quiet is a good sign that we're on the right track here. But first, what happens if we get it wrong? Well, once again, the only dialogue change is when naming the defendant, right before pronouncing them guilty. In this case, the judge stutters a bit due to our unique situation. The final courtroom shot is the same as when we first started today's trial, with Maya supporting Phoenix and no one in the witness stand this time. Other than that, it's the same old game over scene! Anyway, back to the dramatic objection. We didn't care about Miss May's testimony conflicting with Mr. White when it came to identifying the killer, so I'm not sure why anyone is going to care about this contradiction, but here goes! But that directly contradicts Miss May's testimony! Music: Objection! ...! Oh hoh hoh. It is simple. You have misheard her. I think not. Look at the floor plans... Hey, those who wanted to use the floor plans - they are getting used, if indirectly. Unfortunately actually presenting them earlier counts as an incorrect choice and incurs a penalty. She would have been running directly away from the door! She would have been running into a dead end! Don't you find that odd? Whoa we rattled him early. Great leap of logic there, Phoenix! I did see her run to the left... I did. Remember the first episode? The very first contradiction we spotted in the killer's testimony there, was actually the one line he was telling the truth. Could it be the same here? Maya agrees! True. (Maybe he really did see the victim run left...?) (So he did witness the killing...?) Phoenix just remembered that White is actually the killer and had a completely different perspective to the murder. Mr. Wright? Yes, Your Honor? Miss May says "right," and Mr. White says "left." Given a difference in perspective... both are right! Nice, triumph pose already! Hah! I doubt it! Er, rather, that does not clear up the contradiction! Edgeworth can't believe either of his two witnesses would tell the truth, either! What!? quote:Since both are right, choosing one or the other doesn't make much of a difference. For Mr. White, we get: quote:Saying Miss May was right looks much the same: Music: Silence I think our best strategy is going to be getting the crowd on our side. Keep playing it up Phoenix! Mr. Wright! What do you mean? If he was not in the hotel, where could he have been? Two crowd reactions back-to-back! We're on a roll! More specifically, he was standing here! Music: Logic and Trick Looks like we're asked to point on the diagram where Mr. White was standing. I guess technically his testimony would work if he had been standing anywhere in the top-middle part of the room, but we know that he's really Mr. "K" here. This is where he was! quote:There are a couple ways to get this one wrong, though either one comes without penalty and as many free retries as you need. Selecting anywhere on the diagram outside one of the colored circles: quote:We can also place Mr. White on the victim's circle... Music: Silence Please! This is no time for jokes in ill taste! Music: Suspense Why thank you, Edgeworth, for making that point so eloquently for us. Another triple gavel strike, we really have the crowd riled up now! Order! I will have order! Mr. Wright! What are you suggesting!? Edgeworth is going to try and recover this mess. We have no real evidence, so tripping the witness up is all we can do. That said, sounds like it's about time for round two! ... Ho hoh hoh! (What now!? He's... laughing!?) The hilarity of the moment made me remember something... Mr. Your Honor... Might I be allowed to testify once more? Music: Silence Very well, let's hear your revised testimony. Let's see what easily-disprovable excuse he comes up with this time! Music: Questioning - Moderato You chased her, and delivered the final blow. You see? You hit her twice! Music: Silence A plausible explanation, maybe, if it weren't for one little detail. Will you be cross-examining the witness's testimony? Music: Questioning - Moderato Miss May's testimony was correct... as was mine! What do you mean by that! I don't think we'll get much by pressing here, but might as well show it off. I'm still waiting to get hit with a penalty for it someday. (Hey buddy, you're an American, too!) When you assaulted the girl, she first ran to the left. What do you mean "first"? You just wait, your arrogance here will make your coming fall all the sweeter. First, she ran to the left, and then... And then you hit her, savagely! That is what I saw. I didn't hit anyone! Now, now, Mr. Wright. There is no point hiding things from this court. I'm not hiding anything! Mr. Wright, you have been warned. There's a sound effect like when we lose some health bars, but no actual penalty here. Next, with the last of her strength, she ran to the right. What do you mean "next"!? "Next" is what comes after "first." I know that! Then that is all you need to know, Mr. Lawyer. You chased her, and delivered the final blow. Stop saying it was me! Just be patient man, we've got this one. But, it was you. Ugh, you can't prove a negative, that's why the burden of proof should be on the prosecution, but whatever... (Argh! Can I do nothing right? Nothing!?) That is what Miss May saw. Abso-posi-lutely! That's right, of course! (Where did he pick up that annoying phrase...?) You see? You hit her twice! I suppose I was. Well, that's all of it. Any final advice you two? What do you think Phoenix? Let him laugh for now. I'll soon wipe that smile off his face! Well, we have the same evidence list as last time. What should we use this time?

Part 34: Episode 2, Day 3, Trial: Phoenix Fire Other than the group oddly wanting to throw our Attorney's Badge around, a nearly unanimous answer here. So, will Edgeworth magically produce a third autopsy report saying there were multiple blows? Because this one says there was just one hit. Music: Silence Mr. White! Music: Objection! What do you have to say to that? Er... Erp! Mmph. What, we're just going to let him keep trying? I would like to request a 10 minute break! Oh hell no. You'll just tell him what lies to say! Dammit where's my objection button!? Phoenix you got this? Music: Silence Yeah, we've got the crowd with us! Very well. Mr. White? O... okay... Music: Questioning - Allegro Umm... and then... She turned, and ran for the door! I have to say, Mr. White is a lot less impressive on the witness stand than I expected. Maybe no one's ever stood up to him before, so he doesn't know how to handle it? Music: Silence Hmm. "Thwap" indeed. Mr. Your Honor... Deal with it. ...! Music: Questioning - Allegro Umm, well, see--I looked at the other window when I heard that thing fall. White is very non-specific at this point, so we need to press for details. (Right... the one that had fallen over at the scene.) Apparently the first line is the one we want already. I didn't see anything odd at first, but I trust Maya so let's pretend we did. I haven't shown these off yet since the motion makes it harder to keep the animation sizes down, but often in trial there is a blurred camera-moving transition between Phoenix, the witness, and the prosecutor as quick lines are exchanged. Little touches like that, the screen-shaking, and the frequent sound effects are hard to convey in a screenshot LP and really enhance the experience. Anyway, go play the game yourself if you haven't already! Y-yes. Then change your testimony to reflect that! S-sorry. My bad... Okay okay. Of course. quote:If we admit we didn't notice anything strange... Yeah, keep pressing! Why didn't you tell us about the stand before? W-why? Me? I am so... so confused. (White's falling apart.) M-Mr. Wright. Yes, Your Honor. (Edgeworth is on the ropes!) Then, the next moment, I saw Miss Mia run to the left! "Miss Mia"...? Mr. Wright! I will not have you harrying the witness! The killer, you, attacked her... but she dodged. Now before, you said that she was hit before she ran. Y-yes, I must have been confused. Why did the light stand fall? Doesn't it make more sense that it fell when Mia dodged, and the killer knocked it over? Maybe in this fantasy-land there were multiple dodges? She turned, and ran for the door! What did you do then? Case closed, he just confessed. Mr. White, please try to remain calm. First-name basis with the prosecutor, eh? Then you did her in with a single blow! Thwap! "Thwap"...? We've reached the end of the testimony again. I think we know what line has the contradiction, but what's actually wrong about it? Phoenix! He's probably afraid I'll catch him on something! (But it won't be easy!) This one's tricky, and I could probably stop here to ask for more advice. But I think I've got this one. Check out these floor plans. The light stand is not really visible from the hotel. Just a few broken shards are in the lit-up field of view here. So how did Mr. White know it was a light stand? Music: Silence Mr. White. quote:When I got to the end of the episode, I realized the glass shards had never been used. It turns out, you can (and are probably supposed to) present the glass shards here instead! Correct, Your Honor. Now, look... Music: Logic and Trick This is the area you would be able to see! Well...? Music: Silence Music: Objection! What do you have to say to that!? Ri... dicu... losity... Mr. White. If you were in the Gatewater Hotel as you claim, you could not have seen the stand before it fell over! So, when did you see the stand, Mr. White? It must have been the moment that it fell! Music: Silence I'm not sure anything will ever top getting a hairpiece tossed at us, but that was still quite satisfying.

Part 35: Episode 2, Day 3, Trial: Phoenix Freakout We last left off with Mr. White enjoying a little freakout session. The crowd enjoyed it, too! TKO! Mr. White. ... You did it, didn't you? ... Mr. Your Honor. ... Music: Pressing Pursuit - Cornered Screw you, Edgeworth, you've got nothing. If you had a shred of integrity in you, you'd drop the case now and go after Mr. White instead. Mr. White... ... I think the time has come. I don't like where this is going. W... what? I said, you should confess your crime. Ergo, So now Edgeworth is just making up White's lies for him? That's so far past leading the witness, I don't even know what to call it! The w-wiretap!? Uh-oh, we're losing the crowd. Order! Order! Mr. White is slightly confused. Allow me to explain. You and me both! If Mr. White was in the office earlier, he could have seen the light stand then! As you know, Mr. White is the CEO of Bluecorp. Your Honor. Even if Mr. White is confessing to placing the wiretap, his connections would probably get him a slap on the wrist at worst. This is bad! No! You wouldn't! Mr. White. Am I correct...? ... ! Music: Silence And he's totally recovered. Fantastic. Music: Pressing Pursuit - Cornered That is when I saw the accursed light stand! This case is never going to end, is it? Gladly, Your Honor. Mr. Phoenix Wright has made his position quite clear. He has shown that there was only one time Mr. White could have seen the stand: at the very moment of the murder! I see. However! When he went to place the wiretap! He could have seen the glass light stand then. Music: Silence Ugh, competent opponents are the worst! Three crowd reactions in a row for Edgeworth! And I don't think we have anything to counter this latest claim!? Mr. White! On a lighter note, I haven't done a video in awhile, so take this short clip of Redd White doing his bling thing with the full sound effect. Ahem. Leave it to me! (I... I feel faint.) Here we go again... Music: Questioning - Allegro I had entered the Fey & Co. Law Offices. Of course, I had done so to place the wiretap. That is when I saw the glass light stand. Music: Silence Hmm... And this is how you were able to identify what had fallen over. By the sound? Correct! That is right. So, we've already made the witness have a breakdown and yet we're dangling by a thread again... Frankly, I was hoping that you would have an idea! Good luck, Phoenix... Well, guess we just press on everything again... Music: Questioning - Allegro It was the beginning of September... the week before the murder. D-do you have proof!? Ugh, our earlier successes are coming back to bite us! This proves that the wiretap was placed before the murder! Huh... right. I had entered the Fey & Co. Law Offices. Or was it Miss May? Those were obviously Mr. White's. Obviously... He's probably got a falsified report saying that the prints are Mr. White's, anyway. Let's move on! Of course, I had done so to place the wiretap. Why did you tap Mia's phone!? Edgeworth spent the whole time we were badgering White coming up with his strategy here. He's objected to every one of our presses! We have a responsibility to protect client confidentiality! Seems relevant to me, but we're not getting anywhere with it. This point is the first time I've really felt like White's pressure on the court is having an effect. That is when I saw the glass light stand. The light stand was made entirely out of glass. Such a beautacious thing deserves attention, does it not? That is all. I don't see any way our evidence can help, either... While scrolling around through the testimony looking for any kind of clue, the game steps in and takes over... Music: Silence Was there a secret timer running? Were we really supposed to find something there, or was it a planned failure event? The time has come for you to admit your defeat! You fought... honorably. (No more...) No way, pull something out of your rear end again! One last question! Mr. Wright? ... (Phoenix!) ...? (...) Uh-oh, the stress has gotten to us, we're hallucinating.
