Hopefully Teru knows his limits and pulls out If he's risking longterm injury. Ura, Takakeisho and Shodai all doing a great job demonstrating their trademark style.

Natto shows the kimarite for the Ura-Daieisho bout as a tsukiotoshi | "thrust down". That...can't be right can it? Or do they just not have a kimarite for ¡Olé!?

Matches of the day: Ura-Takarafuji: Trying to lock up the technique prize by the first week. Seeing crazy poo poo I've never seen before is always cool. Takakeisho-Kotonowaka: Koto hung in there and gave it a great go, but trying to out slap Takakeisho seems like a poor plan. Tobizaru-Mitakuemi: is this the end of Ozeki Mita? Losing a straight wrestling match to Tobi seems like it's not going to bode well when he faces guys his size. Good for Tobi though. 2-2 against the meatgrider of the Y/O is a lot better than I thought he would do.can he keep it going and force a sanyaku spot when his schedule should get easier? pseudodragon fucked around with this message at 17:16 on Sep 14, 2022 |

Wow wow wow Ura. Seemed like it took awhile to announce the winning technique because they had to consult a book or arcane knowledge to know it’s name Takakeisho gave Kotonowaka maybe the loudest slap I’ve heard in sumo. It was echoing.

So many fun matches today. Hokutofuji was absolutely given a freebie but I'll take it Loved Ichinojo just yanking Daiesho out of there by the arm like an ill-tempered grandma Ura was incredible. Fun to see him get to deploy some exotic techniques against mr bread-and-butter sumo himself Takarafuji. Midorifuji must be regretting starting that slapfight with Wakatakakage. Great display of trength and grit by Tobizaru against an opponent three sizes bigger than him Not sold on the level of haymaker slaps that Takakeisho brought against Kotonowaka. It's a big undignified but it was certainly a spectacle. Also, who had day 4 for Chioshoma's first flying henka? Beeswax fucked around with this message at 20:48 on Sep 14, 2022 |

Shout out to the guy in the crowd in the white sweatshirt with IRISHMAN written on it, defs passed the drip check. Got drat those slaps from Takakeisho too, they're both in my heya but you love to see it. Ura filled the technician quota for today, everyone else just brought violence.

Man, Ura is ridiculous in the best way. That was awesome. Hoshoryu looks really good this basho. Fast, violent, great technique. I assumed Tochinoshin's loss was a dead body rule thing. Hokotofuji definitely hit first but it looked like Tochi was in an unrecoverable position. There's been some excellent sumo so far this basho. Wish I could stay up for Terunofuji vs Tamawashi tonight, they're 2 and 3 in favor of Tamawashi since Teru became yokozuna, and he looks like he might be vulnerable while Tamawashi is kicking rear end.

I'm concerned about Teru and his knees. He may be out in the next couple days or so if they keep hurting. Takakeisho bringing the slaps, I always get a good laugh when he slaps the poo poo outta someone.
