the one in front is getting close, maybe another week or so. I looked at the trichs today with a scope, it could come down now if it had to but we're coming out of 5 days of rain where I only had to chop off maybe a quarter ounce of rot, and we're going into what looks like 5-6 days of no rain so I am just going to keep checking and removing weird/chewed on leaves every day, and rip 'er next week, or sooner if the rot situation gets worse. Dis ten or eleven year old boy had SEVEN teeth out because once they had him sedated and could really see, it was more than just a hosed canine (cats have canines? wtf) but since having that done and then the recovery he seems a bit more chill and prone to just laying down wherever and saying gently caress it, which makes me think he may have been in some discomfort before, so that sucks but I am glad we got it dealt with now, whatever his remaining time is. (As far as we or the vet can tell he's healthy but he's definitely slowed down a lot as older cats do). got a link? We want to do something like this, this looks nicer than other stuff I have seen

looking good!! almost done, and no rain forecast for a week. The bigass Herrar in back is not almost done, needs another 3 weeks or so, but if rot starts to set in before that I will rip it early and just hash it all out. Hoping I can get it to done or close through aggressive Zerotol use, but I am thinking I am gonna stop short of running powered heat out there this year, gently caress it, got 22oz cut down already plus whatever this c99 x blueberry yields and she's like 7' tall after being topped and tied. In the top shot I am actually standing in the middle of the fuckin plant -- the finished row of bud behind me is part of the same plant as the foreground. Marzzle posted:90% milky 10% amber how far you takin it? I spot check all around the plant, that was sugar leaves and when I took those the inner growth was still showing some clear. Indoors I will take stuff to like 40% amber couchlock sometimes, but outdoor harvests I basically run as long as I can until either 15% amber on the inner growth OR beginning of rot season. The latter almost always makes me chop a week earlier than I would otherwise, this plant was no exception..... I've never had a single plant completely fill this rack before. Still got a big Herrar up, it needs weeks more so we'll see about that. Healthy for now and I am using regalia to drench the roots as a hedge against rot, but, if it starts to hard freeze, just have to chop it and make whatever oil out of it. A couple years ago I ran power and heat out here, but, gently caress that the next generation is all Arcarta Trainwreck and I am thinking these might flip to 12/12 basically the second my last outdoor plant is down, which means I am a lot more on top of my poo poo than I was last year. Yeah yea, some nitrogen clawing I know, had some issues with nuits and bugs, seems straightened out now but they need a few more days to relax again. Unsure if any amount of weed gets me this relaxed, he's 11 years old now and into peak "don't give a gently caress" Cat mode. edit: huh weed stores are open near me now. I kind of want some fancy weed, I also like that I haven't bought* it since 2019. * I spend like $2-300 a month on power, nuits, gear, etc. Bought is relative. I like controlling my whole process from seed to oil, and it's fun, but also if retail prices ever hit $50/ounce on stuff that's got solid testing data behind it I can see saying gently caress it. Unsure if the legal market here is ever gonna tank that much, though; I think it's gonna be mostly a tourist-and-boomer trap. Cabbages and VHS has issued a correction as of 22:10 on Oct 3, 2022 |

So I threw some seeds into a pot and they grew! Problem is I have no idea when to harvest. Also my leaves are turning funny colors and I'm not sure if it's due to nutrient deficiency or heat (I'm in South West)

Looks good. Can’t tell how close you are to harvest from those pics. Harvest depends upon what percentage of trichromes are cloudy or amber depending upon what you’re trying to accomplish. Go ask in the cultivation thread for better advice than I can give you with my admittedly limited experience. e: There are reasons why leaves can look weird, but often it doesn’t really matter if you’re far enough along.

Those look fine, i'd remove those fan leafs cause they are in the way now (which is why the plant is trying to get rid of them) it'll let more light in. Leafs that have started to turn yellow are basically doing nothing anyway. Edit: Also you have Thrips all over your plants fyi

I had to look up what thrips are. I'm just growing to grow and was hoping some bees might enjoy it. I'll prune the fan leaves asap. Is there any tips for the thrips though? I'd like the plant to not get eaten to death.

I'd like the plant to not get eaten to death. these look like they are outdoors correct? In that case some amount of bugs is unsurprising. Neem or Trifecta are effective, and I generally love both, but you want to be very careful using either on flowering plants, especially that far along. Trifecta claims it's fine to use 2 weeks before harvest, wouldn't push it beyond that based on experience. (https://www.trifectanatural.com/problem-identifier/how-to-get-rid-of-thrips/) I assume there's bugs on my outdoor crop, and so prior to chopping it I blast it all with double concentration ZeroTol, let that sit for a little while, then blast it off with clear water and a hose and then chop. Indoor plants I don't necessarily do the whole Zerotol blast but I still usually do a quick dunk to try to get rid of any dirt/dust/spiderwebs etc that might be lurking. (My indoor grow space is heated year round and critters know it, and it's an interior space I built in an exterior shed, so keeping it bug proof is a lot harder than when I was growing in a tent on a concrete basement floor). as far as timing harvest I'd say get something like this: https://amazon.com/Microscope-Magnification-Inspection-Compatible-Smartphone/dp/B07PVMRZQH then you want to inspect the trichomes all over the plant: trichomes on sugar leaves are going to amber off first, so just because all the sugar leaves are 25% amber and 100% opaque, doesn't mean the plant is done; you want to scope down into the fluffy white new growth. These pictures are not from the same grow, I just scanned back through my imgur for trich porn. Here's a plant that's definitely not done: Lots of totally clear heads on some trichomes, only a few glassy, very few amber. This is getting closer: mostly glassy heads, a bit more amber. Not done, but, if this was an outdoor plant that was starting to have late-season problems, I might chop it at this point or close to. Better still: looks 100% opaque and maybe 10% amber? That would be a "chop now if you like speedier weed, wait a week for couchier stuff" This was the plant I chopped monday, picture taken immediately before. We're "done enough" for sure; I generally like more amber because I like couchier stuff, but, racing weather and rot and I cut off about a quarter ounce of rotted bud on Monday, said gently caress it and 🪓 Loucks posted:Looks good. I'd like the plant to not get eaten to death. There are lots of foliars you can apply; prune off all the leaves with thrip damage for sure cause the eggs are on there, and don't spray anything on the outside of the plant in flower unless you want to smoke it. If you can buy ipm i would suggest stratiolaelaps in slow release bags hung on the plants and a small pile at the bottom of the pot. They eat the larva only so you have to do it for a couple weeks to completely remove them. Or jumping spiders if you can get them. They are common here so i've never bought them but they're great!
