White and Flacco both suck. At least between the two White is playing for his career, Flacco is just there for a check. But it's all just re-arranging deck chairs on the titanic. They should have traded for or signed someone better then White, instead of gambling that Wilson would be back from his injury early. Now they won't trade for someone because "Well Mike White knows the system so we're more comfortable with him" but they could have gotten someone up to speed, considering Wilson got hurt game 1 of the preseason. So now it's just shrug shoulders we're stuck with Flacco. Hopefully if Flacco sucks this week they at least give White a game to play cause he can't be any worse. As much as I would have liked them keeping Streveler around, it's not like his CFL stats were all that impressive. I would have been happy with him as a 3rd string or practice squad guy and that's about it.

I watch a lot of CFL football, and Streveler is not someone who can throw the ball much unless something has really changed, but he also seems cool as hell, so at least you'd get to cheer for a smart cool dude and not Joe Flacco. Saleh also seems like a cowardly coach, so I'm not sure why they brought in someone like Streveler.

You're paying the guy $7m a year and he's immediately doing everything you want in-scheme for the position very well week one. He's got excellent movement skills, he's showing off some of those former LT technique in pass protection, and he's got a much better anchor and power than you'd have gotten for paying a 1st for Tyler Linderbaum or whatever.

I think White can do better than that and I don't care that he can't throw deep because they aren't going to have time to throw deep this week anyway.

You'd have the potential at least for high variance/high potential impact plays out of the pocket. The Bears game is a perfect example of this. Like Mike Martz basically made all Bears fans pissed off because he told them the truth that Fields wasn't very good field conditions aside. The only thing he did was scramble outside the pocket on a broken play and throw...I mean not even a great pass but it was that caught for 50+ yards and that was a huge impact play. The only impact the Ravens were worried about with Joe Flacco was how far they could embed his skeleton into the turf. And I get it backup QBs all suck but you have to be willing to try some weird poo poo rather than go with Joe Flacco.

I definitely agree that decision making is the most fixable of Tua's problems. I don't why it is but he plays safe smart football for 90% of the game and then the other 10% it's the keystone cops out there.
