I mean who among us hasn’t watched the bubbling remains of their girlfriend dissolve into goop so a sorceress-queen could rise out of it? Move on.

Agreed. I know that losing the war for reality is often harder on the Devil Girlfriend than the Angel Girlfriend. However I also know that it doesn’t necessarily turn you into a sad, depressed sack of tears for the rest of your life. People can move past it, and reach heaven through violence.

If Jadis knew that Allison would not choose breakfast but asked for her to choose it anyways then that's neat.

She doesn't ascribe motive to herself and she would say she's just doing what she does of course. But it's still interesting that Jadis's suggestion is to do something that would go against what she knows would happen.

Not saying this means she secretly wants Allison to break her omniscience or anything, but it would have been just as easy to tell Allison to do the thing she knew she was going to do (and the inevitable and only correct choice). So why is this the thing that Jadis does?

Can confirm. The Gunnerkrigg thread was full of unsufferable moaning until the payoff.

I'm curious to see where this is going. That this is the final book is a heavy weight on top of everything else.
