Is Raw Force the one where a stunt guy gets his head run over for real by a dune buggy? The dude lived in the movie I’m thinking of.

It's one of those films where no matter how much wacky poo poo they pack in it just feels so listless and lifeless to me! Just going through the motions.

I felt the same way, I saw it on Prime or Shudder or somewhere right around the time that VinSyn released it. I almost blind bought it, but I tried to watch it on streaming and I just fell asleep.

Which I guess doesn't say much. I fell asleep watching Demons 2 for the first time, and it turns out that movie whips rear end.

I want one of the boutique labels to put out The Abomination (1986). I really really want it so bad. Weird rubber monsters, questionable editing choices, stilted dialogue/bad ADR combo, lots of cheap and fun gore.let’s do this boys

I know what you did last summer, and frankly I am displeased.
Raw Force also sounds like it would be the name of a porn film. I know it's probably not but I refuse to look it up so I can continue to believe this is the title of a porn film.

I keep hoping Northville Cemetery Massacre gets released by someone soon. I asked Severin about the rights ages ago, and they said they were tough and potentially taken, but it would be a good one. Vinegar Syndrome might be able to do it, but come the gently caress on Synapse, they filmed it 20 miles away from you.

I'm tempted to get Shatter Dead because it looks rad, and Duck! because I remember edgy teenage me reading about it in, I think, one of those "1001 Cult Movies"-type books and thinking it'd be cool to watch right after Columbine. But I don't know that I'd enjoy it so much now given, you know, the last 20 years or so.

I should check the dollar trees. I’d be down for a physical IT. I’ve had it purchased and it’s usually on streaming services so I’ve never really needed it.

$3:
Birdemic: Shock and Terror
Devolved

$5:
Emanuelle and Francoise
Carnival Magic
Day of the Animals
Franco Noir (Death Whistles the Blues and Rififi in the City)
An Angel for Satan
All or Nothing
Robowar
Nosferatu in Venice
Overboard
Zombie 3

I definitely recommend Franco Noir, Angel for Satan, and Zombie 3

“recognizably old things don’t sell” is probably the studio mindset. anybody who already gives a poo poo about old movies will buy them anyway. new artwork is supposed to spruce it up or modernize it for potential first time buyers. i’m sure they’ve done market research that bears it out.

I feel like that is old thinking that probably used to be true back when there was still a large number of people who browsed DVD shelves and bought movies kinda randomly based on whatever caught their eye. I've worked a few different retail jobs in the early 2000s when that was still true, like at Blockbuster there was a whole crowd who's thing was to come in every week and just grab whatever covers looked interesting to them(this is how Seagal maintained a direct to DVD career for so long).

These days those people just do that at home with streaming services, the people who would actually consider buying a blu ray know movies and if anything I think more classic recognizable cover art would be more effective in catching the eye of that type of buyer.

I have zero (or... Just use the og poster art guys. Just use it. Don't gently caress with it. Use the art
