It also frustrates me that Hannity was all "How about we promote legal immigration." Coming to the border and asking for asylum IS legal you racist gently caress!

I know that all of them have the same opinion as that one woman from that one clip though when she was told that immigrants coming to the border and asking for asylum is legal immigration "Well I don't think it should be."

The great thing about the thousands of slaughtered Palestinian children is that they can't pull away when you fondle them or sniff their hair.

That's a Biden success story.

I like pointing out that for most of the history of this country legally immigrating pretty much came down to stepping off a boat.

For the most recent immigrants in my ancestry it was just stepping off a boat and signing a book.

Personally I'm all for going back to just stepping off a boat or walking across the border and I'd happily chip in to send the people who don't like it to a country with a government more to their liking, I hear that the CHUDs really like Putin.

These fuckers are stupid and it always seems like the most vocal of them on the subject are from states no where near a border.

Maybe that's a path to a solution. Starting with the counties that voted most red, the feds do a full crackdown on all undocumented labor, focusing entirely on businesses.

And then once all the businesses that are wholly dependent on undocumented labor go bankrupt, they move on to the next county.

I know just how racist our system has been so don't get all "actually" here, I also give the general D&D denizens the benefit of the doubt that they will be familiar with things like the Chinese exclusion act.

The people I'm aiming that comment at are the white people who like to go about how they're ancestors "legally" immigrated and it's not useful in that argument to point out the racist exceptions defining who could legally immigrate. But it is useful to remind them that those ancestors of their's didn't go through anywhere close to arduous and cumbersome process that exists for immigrants today.

If they are aware enough to bring up some of America's horrible racist history towards non caucasians to justify their support of more stringent standards then they are just telling on themselves and that can be hung around their necks as well.

Lots of their "legally" immigrating ancestors weren't even legal at that btw.

Like they falsified even the minimal stuff they needed to do.

Here's a fun game: scan your radio dial for this poo poo and count the seconds before they say "socialist", "Soros" or "radical left wing" and see if you make it 30 seconds.

...

Hannity told me he was scheduled to have DeSantis on today (I didn't catch it) but he made sure to say he that coming up on the show was "governor Ron DeSantis from the FREE state of Florida", I guess because none of the other states are free. Or something. Probably just the red states are "free" would be my guess.

I don't know why I'm bringing it up beyond how weird it was to shove the word "free" in there for no real reason. He may have well have said "joining me after the break is the freedom loving patriotic gun owning patriotic governor of Texas, Greg Abbott"

Like, if Sean somehow got Gavin Newsome on, would he announce it as "coming up on the show, joining me from the fascist socialist dictatorship anti american state of California (where in case you haven't heard is where Nancy Pelosi lives) that hates freedom and wants to take your guns is governor Gavin Newsome".

And these are the people that complain about media bias.

That's one I've been hearing/seeing for years, usually from 2nd Amendment fetishists who just can't shut the gently caress up about how they come from free states and those with any sort of firearm regulations aren't (sometimes going so far as to call them "occupied" states, 'cause that's sure not an anti-Semitic dogwhistle in its own right or anything).

One funny thing I notice about Hannity's show the last time I listened to it was that at the top of every hour when he plays that lovely country song about how they're coming to your city to play you a guitar and sing you a country song, he used to have a little "THIS IS A SPECIAL EDITION OF THE SEAN HANNITY SHOW: AMERICA TRAPPED BEHIND ENEMY LINES. DAY [X]" which was him talking about American citizens left behind in Afghanistan when Biden pulled the military out. That wasn't on the last show I heard. I guess Hannity got tired of it and decided it was a distraction from the other "real" issues going into the election, just wasn't important enough to focus on.

Remember reading somewhere that every time Bill Gates or some other billionaire makes a huge donation, their net worth magically increases by more than the amount they donated a couple months later. Anyone know how this works, or have a source on this that explains it in greater detail?

Usually it's because they donate such a small fraction of their wealth that the interest they make on stocks and investments negates it. The other answer is generally that their donations end up going to organisations they invest in, so it's more a donation to themselves that they can write off in their taxes. There's probably other hollywood accounting involved.

Their donations have a tangible ROI and I figure if you're that rich you can find one that simultaneously looks really good to the public and pays bank in the long run. Which totally makes sense. With the money they can throw around they can hire some PR firm to help guide them into these decisions.

It's been mentioned in other threads, but Dilbertman is purposely not mentioning the actual reason why his comic strip was dropped: the corporation that owns those 77 newspapers is making the comics sections of all those newspapers uniform and a single page as a cost cutting measure. Someone in the newspaper comics thread mentioned that the comic Heart of the City was removed from its hometown paper, because that paper is owned by this corporation. Anyway Scott is perfectly happy to let his chud fans assume it's because he's being "silenced" by the "woke mobs" and may or may not in a couple of days admit to the real reason if he thinks it will let him own the libs.

John R Lott Jr. is just flat out lying, though.

If anyone actually gave a poo poo about newspapers to begin with, let alone newspaper comics, the way Dilbert has been doing poo poo like that might’ve actually been dropped for that reason. But no one has actually paid attention to Dilbert for over a decade. He could’ve sent in a comic that’s just three panels of goatse and no one would’ve even known

Also, he's part of United Features Syndicate. Nothing gets published anywhere without them making sure it fits the standards of their clients. So there's not really any mechanism for him to get cancelled like he's claiming. There's at least one person checking his poo poo before it's sent out.

He can't publish whatever he wants, but I bet he submits very little that gets rejected or sent back for edits because he's a cuck.

Also, the move to one sheet was probably planned months and months in advance. So the idea that it was because of the immediately previous strip is preposterous. He knew that for months, or should have.

Yeah, the success of the Dilbert cartoon came in spite of Adams more than because of it. It's one of those shows I sorely miss and wish it had gotten more seasons, but UPN was already doomed by the time it was on the air, so it wouldn't have lasted much longer than it already did.
