This could be the most one-sided fight since 1973 when Ali faced an eighty-foot tall mechanical Joe Frazier. My memory isn't what it used to be, but I think the entire Earth was destroyed.

Watching the 10th anniversary now, and Miya looks very good for her level of experience. Also lol at chie’s entrance showing her dashing through the crowd on the hard cam but not following her from a different angle

drat. Hope this means she’s going to go get paid with Stardom and not that she’s done with wrestling like with Mitsuru

E: should have checked the women’s wrestling thread first. She’s going freelance

pretty fucking embarrassing to watch
Easy to say this in hindsight but I don't think this is a massive surprise; Gatoh Move feels like a great place to learn as a rookie (especially one not naturally gifted) and if you are an older veteran to work less punishing matches but if you are in your prime it absolutely caps what you can do. Mei is the chosen ace and seemingly isn't going anywhere any time soon and so that isn't a spot she can take and a lot of the other spots in Gatoh Move are taken by dudes and the Emi booking of intergender is that men almost always beat women (like unless its a comedy match the opposite happening is very unlikely) so there doesn't seem to me like there's much progression. This happens fairly often with Gatoh Move - Mitsuru Konno worked for five years and retired (saying that she didn't really enjoy it); Mizuki and SAKI left after a similar period to focus on TJPW/AWG - its a fact of life for a microindie: part of your role is that you produce your own talent and then after a while some people leave to retire or go to something bigger.

Where does she go? She's worked Stardom this year (New Blood once, the Sumo Hall battle royal the other) and she's got links to Color's who are regulars there and they're doing a mystery opponent gimmick this weekend so that's a possibility but I don't know if she'd be a massive fit there and would have to drop the idol stuff if that's where she'd go full time. TJPW/Ganbare are an option and there's links there - but Gatoh Move also have links there and generally that can cause issues with those sort of relationships so Cyberfight might want to avoid that. Might genuinely go freelance and while she's not got a lot of connections she does have a few (SAKI through working a lot of AWG, I get the impression that SEAd liked her but were blocked from working with Gatoh Move through the Ice Ribbon connection so that's an option; GLEAT have recruited from Gatoh Move and sort of need female talent, etc) or the worst scenario is that she turns into Mari Manji and exclusively works tiny indies you can't watch and so you forget she exists.

I'm not sure if the political issues are to much of a thing outside of working with Ice Ribbon itself. Mei is on tomorrow's SEAd show for example.

Yuna's probably taken the most outside bookings of anyone in Gatoh Move, (GanJo, Michinoku Pro, Wave, Diana, Colors to name a few) so I'm sure she can make a career of being freelance. Also she has other interests she may not want to give up to go full-time with one promotion. She has her Idol work, TV acting, presenting and radio show alongside wrestling.

Of course, money talks and it's possible someone would want to sign her up. She's certainly good enough.

It's not going to be TJPW. Yunamon has ever worked TJPW once ever in 2021 and TJPW really only recruits from its own dojo.

pretty fucking embarrassing to watch
They recruited Mizuki from outside (Gatoh Move/LLPW/whatever it was at that point), Natsumi Maki from AWG in 2018/19 and Nao Kakuta from AWG in 2020. They don't sign a million people but they absolutely do sign outsiders if they are available. I do think the Mei thing makes it difficult - even when people leave on good terms you tend to see a period where they don't work with people from their former promotion - Saori Anou was notably kept away from Tae Honma in Ice Ribbon from Anou's AWG departure to Tae's AWG departure and Anou appears to have left there in very good terms considering the send off she got. Easily could just book the two to stay apart if that was the case; but I think that it may be something that neither side would want to deal with.

CHOCOPRO #258: YUNAMON'S FINAL MATCH IN ICHIGAYA AS A GATOH MOVE WRESTLER!
WATCH LIVE ON YOUTUBE HERE
Time: 10am JST / 1am GMT / 6pm PDT / 9pm EDT

Below is Super Fan Dogglesnake's match guide for tonight from Reddit. Found HERE

quote:

Gatoh Move

Mei Suruga 🍎 & Sayaka Obihiro 💙VS Chie Koishikawa 🏵️ & Tokiko “Otoki” Kirihara 💃

Mei Suruga & Sayaka Obihiro are one of the more uncommon (but powerful) combinations that ChocoPro can offer. These two alone produce a hefty amount of gifs! Though their styles might differ significantly, the technical skill of the two put together is pretty frightening. Maybe it is because they’re both monsters in different ways? The Apple Goblin is preparing for a North American excursion, so she’ll be hungry for more chances to show off her high speed pins & cruel submissions. In all honesty though, it doesn’t take much to get her to commit atrocities! Monster friend Obi on the other hand works well with anyone, and her chops and speed rival that of the Oni herself. She even gave Akki a lot of difficulties in the last episode! Maybe the storm raging outside is further motivating the technical chef? She has earned the title of the Soul of Gatoh Move! This pairing will once again be magical. Although probably wretched goblin magic...

They will be taking on two members of the Fourth Generation: “Too Much Energy” Chie Koishikawa, the Frantic Fencer (who does lightning quick knuckle chops!), and “Iron Body” Tokiko “Otoki” Kirihara...the Comaneci Enthusiast (who does powerful kickboxing strikes)! Chie is better known for her pairing with the icy Hagane Shinno in EGG TART (and now Sayaka while he’s away on excursion), while Otoki usually teams with Antonio Honda in Black Comaneci or Sayaka in Othello (She’s popular!). Chie has been expanding her stretch muffler variants and working on new ways to deliver her flash strikes, while Otoki has been increasing her Comaneci influenced pins and submissions...and still dishes out ungodly heavy blows! “Golden” Otoki can even put the Ace on his back! Between Chie's rapid growth and Otoki's fierce determination, the seniors will not have an easy go of this bout. The Fourth Generation is a collection of rising stars and isn't to be underestimated! (Even the one that is in GLEAT, now...) Expect some fast exchanges and surprising submissions!

Misfortune

Sayuri 💠VS Cherry 🍒

Sayuri, the Crimson Kunoichi of ChocoPro, has many Ninja Tactics at her command. Not only that, but she has quite a few cunning jutsu’s available and has been upping her reversal game significantly! While she is also now showing off new talents tending Bar elsewhere (as well as a set of wonderful new gear), this time she’ll need to really dig deep into her bag of ninja tricks. It will take a most powerful jutsu in order to stop the Unstoppable! While it will be sad that we won’t see her in Yunamon’s Dunce School anymore, a big victory would help further stand out among her monstrous comrades in the Fourth Generation. Don’t forget: Sayuri’s potential is limitless. She might just pull this one off...Believe it!

The mysterious fortune teller Cherry returns to ChocoPro. Cherry left the fans wanting more with her last appearance, as always. Cherry has the ability to bring out the best in her opponents, but what lies behind her beautiful attire and innocent smile? Schemes and underhanded tactics! Cherry goes from cheerful prankster to ungodly limb worker in the blink of an eye. She is one of the most exciting guests of the entire series! Can the Ninja in Training stack up to such a technically gifted opponent? Sayuri will have to pull out all the stops to keep up with the flashy techniques of the wrestling oracle. Even the strongest on the roster try to avoid battling Cherry on the ground... (Seriously, Cherry rules, and she works a ton of promotions!)

Farewell, Tropical

Yuna Mizumori 🍍 & Baliyan Akki ♠️ VS RESET (Emi Sakura 🌸 & Kaori Yoneyama 🍚)

Yuna Mizumori & Baliyan Akki have clashed a lot over the years, but the Tropical Fairy Monster and the Zephyr of Ichigaya will team up one last time! This is the final interaction of the “Big Three”, which is odd to think about (Mei, Akki, Yuna). Yunamon is a sing-song Lariat machine that will have you redefining what you think a Powerhouse is. Her speed and power is frightening, only out-shined by her overwhelming charisma! Once Yunamon gets moving you will find yourself swept up in that indescribable, undeniable, Tropical passion! Yuna working both as a wrestler and an Idol is a tough life, but she is tougher! She has bet on herself and will be leaving Gatoh Move to pursue her dreams as a Freelancer, but she is no stranger to hardship and she will succeed. It has been a pleasure getting to help share her with the world! The Ace has his own goal in this match: paying back the original goblin! Baliyan Akki usually aims for taking down big game targets (his Super Asia Championship run has been all monster legends!), this time he will be gunning for his opponent at Tropical Night: Super Asia Challenger Kaori Yoneyama! Akki has earned his prize and the dark road that led him here has only made him stronger. This liquid smooth combo striker is the Ace for good reason! Yuna & Akki are among the best, and it will be great to see them work together once more. Even with the Typhoon as a constant presence outside, another Tropical Storm has arrived in the Chocolate Square.

RESET! It has been a long time since the former tag champions were able to wrestle together. The team of Emi Sakura and Kaori Yoneyama is one of the fastest and most inventive teams on the scene, the two of them amplifying each other’s trickery...leading to some of the greatest bamboozles you’ll ever see. It is hard to describe the cruel antics they get up to, but Kaori is the original goblin and Emi is called the Oni for a reason. With flashy, exciting team combinations and synergy like clockwork, they’re a sight to behold! Emi has been on a hot streak back in AEW, putting out some great work with various talents on their streaming shows. Did you see her Moonsaults!? Those ungodly chops, lariats, tiger drivers, and even flying head scissors show why the Queen is so underrated. She’ll be looking to make a statement here in the lead up to her final match with Yuna at Tropical Night. Kaori is commonly known as the smoking clown Fukigen Death in STARDOM (at least according to AZM), but in ChocoPro she tends to skip the face paint while still bringing the same level of shenanigans. She's even been known to take the camera (or cameraman) for her attacks, giving the viewers a POV wrestling experience. Be sure to check out YMZ, her own promotion! ChocoPro tag matches are always incredibly solid, so putting four of the best Tag specialist wrestlers in existence in there at once to open the show should be a real treat, albeit a bittersweet one.

Can't stop the Tropical Yahho, No matter what! Farewell, Yunamon
