I’ve been growing my hair out. It takes multiple days of being careful not to get it too dirty or too clean if I want it looking it’s best. No men in my family (either side) have gone bald, which is a bonus for me since I have a hideous head. I bic’d it once in high school maybe and it was downright repulsive. More than my normal look. I just go to the barber every couple of months for a clean-up since I wear a baseball cap all the time outside of work and an OR hat at work.

The only thing that ever put up any kind of fight was the RF CV half shaft - that fucker did NOT want to come out of the hub. Pulled the knuckle and threw it in a press. Bent the press, so we took a torch to it while in the press. Gave up after getting it bright orange, left it in the press, started calling junkyards to track down another knuckle... about 15? minutes later thought someone had fired a gun. Nope, fucker popped out finally. I probably should have replaced the bearing at some point after all the fire and force

$12k for a 62 year old house recipe doesn't seem that bad, how much salt and mayo does it call for? I'd cut both in half given that tastes and health guidances have changed since the 60's.

Man-made stones definitely are gouging with the ethical label, they cost almost nothing to make, labor is in cutting just like natural. Don't know where you are but you can probably find a jewelry wholesaler and just order an empty ring in the right size then buy a stone to match, any jeweller will set a stone, shouldn't cost much. If I'd done this with my wife's wedding ring we'd have saved half easily. Congrats.

Moissanite or goatee however it's spelled. Looks like a diamond, has a higher refractive index so it's more "brilliant" lab grown, and just about as hard Should be more affordable than even lab grown diamonds

Also I’m hoping for more affordable, I’m not exactly rich :-( I found a proper jeweler who did custom stuff, we discussed what I wanted and they carved it in wax. I approved and they had it cast in palladium (I couldn’t afford platinum as a college student) with opal inlays and a sapphire instead of a diamond. It came out cheaper than the pre-made stuff and nobody else has a ring just like it.

She should know that it's not real, I've never called it a diamond, she knows that I'd never buy a diamond, and I'd tell her if she'd ever asked me, but she never has. I hate the feeling of being freshly shaved. So I only shave (my beard) once a week, but I also don't really want a beard either. So I deal with it I guess. But my hair on the other hand. I used to keep it really short, and get it cut monthly. But several years ago I decided to grow it out. These days I get compliments on it. A fuckin lot. Girls love it. Which is quite an ego boost because generally they find me to be revolting being a goon after all. But hell yeah they love my hair! Speaking of love, rhyno we all love you motherfucker. I can’t seem to win here. The power steering high pressure hose on the truck lost an internal-non replaceable o-ring and dumped all the fluid. Made it to a family members near by, boy did I not enjoy strong-arming a 8,500lb truck. Even worse it took out the hydra boost- so I had no power brakes. Local parts house has a line in stock I’m picking up in the morning.

She called me "cute as hell" and asked if I was married. I think she must've been drunk off her rear end at 2pm For reference: I also got a new car today, the first brand-new car I've ever bought, bringing the fleet total to 6, of which 4 run. (It's a boring-rear end Chevy Bolt) Also the thing I build at work, after 3 months of insane overtime and overcoming an insane number of technical issues, fired up successfully for the first time today. Stopped by the office on my way home from getting the car to pick up a few hundred bucks in "good job!" Awards for my team that I get to surprise them with at our team BBQ tomorrow. I will never shave voluntarily ever again. I've used straight razors, safety razors, disposable and cartridge razors with 1 blade or 7, no matter what my curly lovely neckbeard immediately starts loving up the flesh it came from.
