It used to feel like the PA guys pulled a new artstyle out of a hat once per year but it seems like it's mostly the same now as it was in 2019 but with weirder mouths (I just took the first comic from each year with a good shot of both of them) e: here's a better one from 2016, that year was especially weird

Penny Arcade started having weird/dumb noses around the time that Gabe got really into the idea of making artsy non-PA comics around 2009-2010. Although for a while he only drew the tumblr noses for secondary characters and kept the main two the same. He only made a handful of them but somehow managed to wrangle two kickstarters out of it.
