I saw Smashing Pumpkins at the Reading Festival in 1992 and near the end of their set Corgan threw the wimpiest temper tantrum I've ever seen someone in a rock band throw, managing to barely smash his mic with his guitar before storming offstage. So I'm 100% with MJF on this one

For me it's not even that I don't like lots of genre of music, it's just growing up I was one of those obnoxious metal kids who thought everything non-metal was bad (until I got to 20 & discovered Dälek & suddenly my ears were opened. Or San Andreas's Playback FM, whatever came first), and even after I dropped that attitude my ways for discovering new music were very much centred on metal magazines & blogs etc & from my friends who have ended up mostly being people I met at the height of my gig going years, which were predominately metal & hardcore shows. Unless new music makes its way onto the few hours of BBC Radio 6 I hear a week while cooking then I probably won't hear it. poo poo, at this point I've mostly lost touch with what's new in metal too. There's so much music to listen to, especially with the internet making it incredibly easy to listen to older stuff. But there's also a part of it where some goons seem to forget that we don't all live in the same country, & what's big in your country may not actually make it to my country, especially if it's music with lyrics in non-English languages because the British are quite parochial about that (among other things). To go back to the Bad Bunny bit for a second, the highest any of his albums have charted in the UK was Un Verano Sin Ti at #62 (this is another sign I'm out of touch, I still care about the album, but that's beside the point). Incidentally I had to search Metal Archives to see if there was any band called Cavity Slime because it's just a great band name. Sadly not, but I assume there will be within the next 6 months.

RE: that Luigi Primo thing, I'll add that he did not get booked at the NEW 10 show "the day after Canada lifted border restrictions". We're getting rid of our border crossing app, that's all. I'm a dual citizen and I cross the border many times a year, and restrictions have been lighter for several months. We haven't required recent tests since before summer, and the only isolation protocol was if you had symptoms or a positive test. The last three times I've crossed in the past two months, they haven't even asked me for that information. So, surprise surprise, those Twitter/Reddit people were arguing on incorrect information anyway.
