They probably realize that Brexit, COVID, and the Ukrainian war are combining to doom the UK economy and they're trying to fleece every last dollar they can before they all hightail and run. This really feels like VC's stripping a newly acquired company for parts before they declare bankruptcy in a couple years and move on.

OK but you have to remember, the UK is incredibly racist. Liz Truss was the person everyone knew and said was going to drive the country over a cliff honking like the General Lee while Rishi Sunak would do the evil stuff in a way more civilised manner. However Liz Truss is white so she's the one the Tory membership voted for.

A lot of what I read is about how hard it is being poor in America, but then I read about how UK people are worried about food and heating and I'm thinking aren't they supposed to be better about that? Would American poor be much better living in a UK council house? Likewise when you say the UK is incredibly racist is that like beyond what the US can imagine or is America and the UK about the same? Also, I love watching poverty porn and TLC should make an American version of Benefits Street. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvKfcqpiEHw

Council houses these days are loving luxury living, rents are usually reasonable, maintenance is kept up on. But there's a shitload of means testing and 5-6 year long waiting lists for council housing these days because all the old council housing was sold off during the Thatcher years and the council wasn't allowed to use the money they got from selling them to build new council houses. So a lot of those old council houses are now in massive states of disrepair and rented by private landlords because the people who bought them for £30-40k in the 80s ended up selling them for £200k+. Now my flat is £550 a month, the toilet leaks, there's barely any insulation and it's also a regular house that was shoddily converted into 2 flats.

Game streaming isnt even a technically terrible idea these days but theres a very limited number of people who are willing to spend $50+ on games and $50-100+/month on fast internet that arent also willing to spend $500 on an Xbox or Steam Deck or something.

Vice President posted:There's a form on Treasury Direct you fill out, and it lists the things the bank can use to stamp it. One of them is a "Signature Guarantee" stamp, which is not a Medallion stamp, and apparently many banks assume you mean a Medallion stamp when you ask for that so they immediately tell you no. It’s actually a distinction without much of a difference. There is more than one signature guarantee program, but Medallion is the most common. A signature guarantee is usually going to be required when you are transferring securities such as bonds. A medallion would have worked for you. If your bank can’t or won’t do one then either you need more paperwork or a new bank.
