I actually just saw an Amazon ad for this on FB today and I was like hmm I could use that. Didn’t know it existed before I’ll track down the Stanley

Definitely my favorite wrench and I'll admit, when I saw that post about Amazon copying I was actually hopeful, because I was hoping they'd made a bigger version, alas no. Seriously a great wrench, so great I wish they made it in different sizes.

I guess the patent probably finally expired.

I too would like both a smaller and a larger version of the same thing.

That's great. I like the Stanley wrench/vise grip concept but I'd rather have a less cheap feeling one. Maybe even the OG adjustable wrench company BAHCO will make one? They've partly turned to cheap and lovely tools in the -00's at least but their nut rounders are still good and wikipedia says they're owned by snap-on now so maybe the cheap lovely tools thing was just a phase.

The patent mentioned on the Stanley one I have expired 20 years ago: https://patents.google.com/patent/US4472986A/en

Maybe they got a later patent covering the same "invention" (which shouldn't happen, but happens) that expired recently, and didn't bother changing the casting.

This is a great list. I have the Wera 3/8" set, it's very nice.

I need to do some work on my bike including having the front wheel off and ended up getting a stand that will lift the whole bike off the ground. And a torque wrench, the tohnichi ones are mega expensive here in CH but pretty reasonable shipped from Japan. I'm not in a hurry so will wait for it to make its way across the planet.

They’re fine, better than the cheap plastic ones. There’s also a different version that’s basically a C-clamp which also works well especially on smaller lines. lisle tools calls them “hose pinchers”

Went ahead and grabbed a couple pairs of these. They’re cheap and should work for what I need them for.

Here’s a free tool for everyone: If you have random new parts and you can’t remember which project you bought them for, RockAuto’s part search can help identify.

Go to the ‘Part Number Search’ tab:

That will return the part you’re looking at and/or alternates:

Click the part number, to the left of the ‘info’ button, and it will list which vehicles that part fits:

Obviously ‘Ford’ doesn’t narrow it down but that’s is a really common filter that fits a ton of Ford engines. If it’s a more esoteric part you can get better detail:

Hell yeah that's great advice. I'd pay a few bucks a year to just have a parts catalog database as deep as RockAuto.

And ideally one as deep as should be possible with all the trim and bolt and plastic information that should exist.

I still remember their lovely aluminized mild steel exhaust rotting off of my vehicles every 2 winters :|

I ended up finally getting tired of it and built myself a full 304 stainless catback because no one sold one for my ride. The downpipe is just as crusty so it's on the list next.

drat that new design looks like poo poo. i guess any tool being well designed and a good value is a limited time phenomenon, as it will eventually get de-contented until this sort of thing inevitably happens. i sure am glad i got my 2767 about a year ago.

Putting those pins into single sheer more than halved their strength, If they wanted it to work they should have to increased their diameter significantly,
It's amazing that nobody noticed such a basic error before putting it into production.

2767 is more powerful than my old johnny thunders IR air impact, and its so nice not having to drag the air hose out. the little one is no slouch, either

its so disappointing that they've cocked up the 2767 this bad, since these older ones are so good. and they raised the price too, lmao

You're never going to guess why they're cheaping out.

Investors want profits. Quality is secondary.

Speaking of TTi, the home depot had a deal where if you buy certain tools, you get a free battery and charger. The bare batteries are $70 on sale, but one of the tools that came with a free one was the brushed angle grinder for $50.

It's beefier than i thought it was going to be, but has to be completely disassembled to change the brushes. The older versions had a screw-out cover.

Still, can't complain about a $50 angle grinder you can smuggle in to the pick-n-pull

drat that sucks about the new Milwaukee’s been transitioning my cheap tools to Milwaukee slowly.

If anyone needs a little drill/driver this thing is fantastic. I got it non a similar deal a few years ago. Just great to keep in the house, and I even use it with buffing pad attachments for small areas because it’s not super powerful so hard to burn through paint with it. $17 you can not go wrong highly recommend

Interesting. Is WORX brand stuff actually good?
I see it being sold at a few stores now and have been wondering. Is it a thing like Ryobi, where its more than adequate for the home gamer, but not quite good enough for the professional use? Or is it somewhere just above (or below) HF quality?

I have the word corded blower that I’ve had for at least 5 years that was $25 on eBay, and this drill set. For cheap stuff on these eBay sales I just can not say enough great things.

I own Milwaukee drill this so t a replacement but if you were a homeowner and didn’t own a drill, this would serve you well. Like I said I love this little guy for buffing and polishing smaller areas on vehicles
