I asked my clinic to send me a few leaflets so that I could give them to interested parties. I guess they know how much I talk about with strangers, as they sent this large boxful. lol

WampaLord posted:drat all that and they didn't even throw in a preroll? Heh, I wish. Over here, weed is still a controlled drug, and every g and mg has to be accounted for like any other controlled medicine. The clinic itself doesn't provide any actual weed - that's down to a specialist pharmacy (which also happens to be owned by the same parent company as the clinic). To be fair, I don't want payment from anyone to do what I'm doing. I never have done with weed related stuff. If I had any kind of official role with a corporation, I would be forced to reign in many opinions and also be forced to say poo poo I don't believe in. I have lots of opinions about the poo poo UK scene and how we've got to this point, but I'm genuinely happy with the clinic, and referring people to them is no different than when I referred friends to black market dealers in days of old. I didn't get a cut then, so why would I now? I did win that Volcano from them the other month, so I don't feel cheated one bit. If the service starts going to poo poo, I'll be very loving vocal about it. lol. I get a genuine buzz and raison d'etre out of helping people gain access to weed,. I also get a massive buzz out of being able to sit in the centre of town, in full view, and openly consume cannabis. I want more people to be able to do the same, and so many people are eligible. It's just a win-win situation all around imo

Back in 2007 I was in california for a while and got my medical card as soon as I could change my drivers license over. The first doctor I went to was kind of serious and only gave me 6 months and was kind of stern about giving me a weed card for some reason. I get the card and I have to go around the corner to a hole in the wall dispensary with a huge dude sitting out front lifting weights (this was also in an old stripmall type building)...it was sketchy af. But I asked him where the weed at and man he let me in the door and it was like shangrila, all kinds of weed. I got done and into my car and I couldn't stop laughing my head off that I had just purchased a grip of weed just like that, legally, with a credit card! I later found less shady dispensaries but it was in the early days so experiences varied a lot. When my 6 months ran out the next doctor I went to near Venice beach, basically pushed the card on me. He had a big list on the wall behind where he sat with every possible human symptom of being alive on it, and he would go down the list, if you had any you NEEDED weed (anxiety, fatigue, depression). 100 dollars cash for the prescription though LOL. here's my first legal weed purchase: this is arctic kush and it's still one of the pineiest weeds I've ever smoked: Then I moved back to texas and haven't had legal weed since! tldr: legal weed is a legal thrill and perfectly legal LifeSunDeath fucked around with this message at 03:38 on Oct 5, 2022 |

Weed is so legal in Michigan that there's usually a guy behind the counter on 4/20 throwing full gram carts and pre-rolls and edibles and poo poo at people. I don't know how that works or anything but I definitely got three pre-rolls, two 1g carts and 2 50mg edibles thrown at me in the span of an hour this past year lol

There's been a few studies showing cannabis users tend to be healthier weights, with smaller waistlines, and have more stable blood sugars than non-users. Munchies is a phase you get past pretty quickly. But cannabis does seems to help prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes. I'm the only weed consumer in my direct family, and the only one (of 5) without the Wilford Brimleys. Two type 1s, two type 2s, and me. By all rights I should be a 300lb fatass that got type 2 around 30, but here I am at 40, 210lbs, eating like a trash panda and my blood sugar just hangs out around 100. A joint a day keeps the problematic type 2 medications away.

The president of Costa Rica signed the medical cannabis regulations last Friday. They're not published yet so we don't know what they actually say. He's also pushing for full on recreational legalization. I don't know much about his other policies, I can't vote here so whatever. But long live CR's weed president IMO.

For Michigan, 2021 saw over $40 MILLION in tax revenue shared among the cities that have dispensaries, processing centers, etc. Places that choose to not have them don't get a cut. Legal weed won Gretchen Whitmer the governor's seat in Michigan, no doubt. We had insanely good turnout, especially in more dense urban areas and I know it was 100% because weed was on the ballot. Ever since 2018, the MI GOP shut the gently caress up about weed and only supports the NIMBY-types in their fight against dispensaries in their towns

my buddy who just discovered weed at almost 50y/o promptly moved to a legal state from texas and I just talked to him last night and he's now living his best life. He says he started smoking cones for the first time and now he's hooked, just packs up a few and goes outside and smokes without a care in the world. Dude is so happy. Anyway, weed is pretty much magic and that's scientifically proven.
