They're not all dead, people just wander off to some friend's house and drown their sorrows in booze for a few days and don't bother checking in after a disaster like this. But yeah a couple thousand dead might be plausible hahaha

before the storm really hooked east, they had it heading for Tampa Bay and my county had mandatory evacuation for zones A B and C the zones only go up to E, my house is like a few blocks into zone D also it intensified a lot more than they expected after it went over Cuba everything is all hosed up and I think a lot of folks in Lee County stopped paying attention on Tues morning when it looked like it was hitting further north

So, uh, yeah, hopefully most of those people just hosed off somewhere.

On the day of the storm I got a call from a client I touch computers for. They couldn't get on teams, couldn't sync onedrive. I try remoting in, no dice. She mentions there is 'a bit of weather'. She was in Venice, FL working from her summer home still at 3 in the afternoon. They didn't scare these ppl appropriately. 2 hours later her home was underwater.
