Ok so I guess the Bills just wanted him to roleplay Lamar Jackson for that one practice session?

Curious to why he wouldn't see the field on a week like this

Probably a combination of Isaiah Hodgins looking good and Tavon Austin looking like Tavon Austin.

My guess is they signed him in good faith, he didn't live up to what they wanted, but they were happy to have a veteran on the PS. It' got to mean that Hodges is ahead of him.

They've had 5 WR every game so far. Primary five has to be Digg, Davis, Shakir, McKenzie, Kumerow. The latter two are the questions for this weekend. I reckon Hodges definitely takes Kumerow's spot. They're probably hopeful McKenzie is good to go, if he's not, they're probably have to give Gentry his debut and hope they don't need him much. They might want to have kept Austin but a one off game probably wasn't enough to make him happy. Beane seems pragmatic about keeping players who want out.

Yeah they clearly don’t count UDFAs in these lists because Miamis UDFA rookie is out paying all but 4 or 5 of those rookies. He’s looked phenomenal

Might be worth it to risk a loss to the Jets and let those guys sit before we play freaking Jefferson.

No guarantee X will get healthy though I suppose.

You guys run cover 0/1 like 60% of the time and Zach has historically been putrid against the blitz. I’m sure your defense will hold up ok.

I'm not going to lie, that game has me concerned. I don't expect us to actually win things this year what with a new coach, but I'd very much like to not get blown to pieces by high-octane opponents.

Always fun to watch the JT O'Sullivan analysis.

Lots of good stuff in here on timing and arm talent and how Zach got himself in trouble quite a bit in the middle of the game and pulled himself out.

I'll have to give it a watch. And yeah - I don't think 2021 Wilson rebounds from the 2nd/3rd quarters like he did in this game. He was wretched for the middle chunk of the game, no doubt, and you don't want those stretches to be in his game at all. But I still think it's progress and that's all that matters (especially given he hadn't played for 6 weeks). Miami is going to be a much tougher test for him though - the dumb stuff he did in Q2/3 (bailing out of the back of the pocket, turning his back on the pass rush) will *kill* him against Miami's blitzes.

There's an interesting point in there that he doesn't hate the falling back and retreating with 13 steps drops (because of his arm strength and being able to keep his eyes downfield) as much as he hate the spinning, back to the defense, escapism that is dangerous and turnover prone.

He also points out that the deep left INT he threw was on Elijah Moore quitting on the route which I hadn't seen before but it was pretty clear in All-22. He also missed a wide open Garrett Wilson crosser on the same play.
