I mean sure the actual Super Bowl would be the American championship game for the foreseeable future, but at least that wouldn't cripple the hell out of everyone involved in Europe. (it's a very dumb idea however you try to do it)

Amy Pole Her posted:https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/10/08/roger-goodell-hints-at-a-four-team-european-division/ Germany would be the one part of Europe where there’d be genuine grassroots support for a local team instead of just American expats and bored locals. But the logistical issues of having a team there run so goddamn deep that the air travel isn’t even at the top of concerns. How can you draft American 21 year olds and send them to go live in freaking Munich for the next 4 years minimum? Or attract a single drat free agent?

How can everyone agree Miami followed protocol but neither doctors actually reviewed his back? Is it because you’re (or you were) only required to have a feasible excuse for the wobble??

Is it because you’re (or you were) only required to have a feasible excuse for the wobble?? I wonder if the issue is that the Dolphins doctor is allowed to defer to the training staff's diagnosis of the back issue, but the independent neurologist wasn't allowed to just take their word for it and that was part of what got him fired. There's no way to conclusively prove Tua had a concussion in the Bills game or not, but the back injury wasn't just a made up diagnosis to cover, he pretty clearly had one: https://twitter.com/ColeVanBockern/status/1576316870558244865?s=20&t=gzoXRNEXoB1X48kJ_APrJQ Some real nice ankle action here from Von Miller too, but I do kind of wonder if the back injury was a contributing factor to the concussion(s) because both times the guy doesn't really seem to effectively brace himself before falling flat on his back.

Ches Neckbeard posted:Sounds like the neurologist may be getting the power to overrule team doctors This seems good but maybe functionally difficult to police aside from the very obvious staggering on the field bit? It seems hard to check out motor coordination and functional speech while you're still watching the rest of a football game just in case it happens to some other guy who you might have to run to the other sideline to check out. Obviously the ideal answer is no one gets cleared until they're cleared whenever the neurologist can get to them however long it takes, but I suspect the NFL isn't a fan of that idea.
