Those gamer avatars are kinda funny. Though Mythos the Mythic fan is kinda strange. I found the small print implying that she is a lore fan. But I can't unsee Mythos with her deck full of mythic rares as the whale gamer archetype. The kind of magic player that does buy mythic wildcard bundles, or 1000$ proxies. Also there is a customer survey advertised in the advertisings. You can tell wizards if you want them to focus on bringing 4-player games, modern format or deck sharing or deck rental to arena.

But the first time I saw a character with a gold color theme and the title mythic on mtg arena the first association I had with those character traits has nothing to do with the story kind of myth. I probably would interpret her differently if I hadn't encountered her while logging in only to check for stonks. Or if I hadn't encountered her right after the peak mtg finance announcements of last week. Also, she has a massively mythic heavy deck in the current event. Even if it is supposed to Bolas themed.

Playing the Timmy deck seems wise, seeing as everything costs 0 so you can just drop multiple massive creatures. My opponent scooped when I had like 20 power on the board on turn 1 and then dropped Ulamog on turn 2.

Yeah I just did a timmy game where drew 5 cards and hit for 21 hasty damage before my opponent got to take a turn It's probably the most busted deck edit: twice in a row

It may not be the most busted deck, but Johnny the Combo is probably the funniest. Liliana's Contract into Demenlord Belzenlok into Mind's Desire - with Aether Marvel on the board? Yes, please! Simic Ascendancy, Animation Module, and Cathar's Crusade? That won't take long!

Timmy is pretty fun, with all those big dinos. But, Jonny being able to cast every card in his hand several times per turn is just cruel. Spike brought a standard deck to an omniscience event.

Johnny is definitely the deck to play if you want to have fun. Timmy and Vorthos can win games, but usually it’s just because they play a single card that totally ends things for them (Ulamog, Apex of Power, etc.) Johnny makes you find the win.

I knew it was a good event when I picked Johnny and won with turn 1 simic ascendancy, turn 2 mind's desire, play my whole deck, replay the demon that gets +1/+1 counters a bunch of times to win on my next upkeep

Played the Johnny deck and played the “cast a spell proliferate” card then copied my Ajani Sleeper Agent with spark double, played a spell, ulted both ajanis then paradoxical outcome’d my creature back to my hand to replay them and win via ajani poison counters. Deck rules.

I remember when jumpstart came out it was fun and I had a spreadsheet that let me collect a bunch of rares/mythics for cheap(ish). Jump In seems decent for me since i'm just getting returning and my standard is not much more than the starter decks. However this time around I don't know what cards are good/worth going for. The timmy deck is real fun. Had some good times getting the 'draw for each dinosaur' in my opening hand. Had a game where an oppo sac'd their domri to fight my creature, but in saccing the domri lost 1 power so didnt finish it off. One where my oppo did a smug g1 'good game' when i had umalog, regisaur alpha and goring ceratops in my opening hand. Another where an opponent didnt realise their creature was stolen and bounced it accidentally. Fun times

I won the Qualifier Play-In with this fun match. My opponent had over 150 power on the board, but he couldn't stop two flying creatures. This deck is still fantastic at crushing mono-black. I took it to Mythic #400 last month. If there is any card likely to get banned on Monday it's probably Fable, but it doesn't feel as format-warping as most of the Standard bans from the past few years. Edit: My own guess is that Greasefang will see a ban in Historic/Explorer. I'm not sure how much play it sees in Pioneer.
