The plan is to poison them.

Let's see how this goes.

The plan is working.

All the enemies are damaged at the start.

Which is good, as they are pretty numerous.

Graylee misses her attacks.

Ciara keeps up her good work.

Lark drops some heavy damage on the enemy.

Ciara takes a hit, over half her health is gone.

But Greylee clears the Batchby out.

The door opens, and more enemies appear.

Lark fires off a discus. A quick one two and there are two less monsters in the world.

We go into the grayplane, and get eyes on a Butler and another Spectik.

Graylee is not having a good day.

Ciara is doing well.

Lynn shoots down a Spectik.

She moves up and puts two hits into the Watchman.

A quick bit of magic and the job's done.

Lark is one point short of levelling.

Astel gets some more dodge.

Hey, we saved the wife as well!

The Coachman is back.

The Scarf of Divinity.

Molis joins the party as a battledancer.

Let's get her some experience.

So, what keeps Rath in the field?

Rath's a man on a mission, jobbing out to fight monsters. The magical loot probably helps too.

Rath is a man cursed to slowly become a living electrical conduit I doubt people like having him around town what with all the flammable buildings.

Rath's always been our weird dreamer guy even before turning into lightning. Keeps him away from 'civilisation'. Though I guess he did civilise long enough to have a kid at some point.

At this point in his life, he's probably had enough of civilization's poo poo, and just wants to enjoy the outdoor life.

Honestly I'm surprised this lot don't send children fleeing in the streets.

We get doubled stunt damage, which is good, as the Thryxl are right up in our face!

We got some work to do here. Lets get chopping.

A quick one-two and and the Scorier is down.

We get a stone spirit, but the weapon is something of a downgrade, so I take the salvage instead.

The bard is the next to go down.

We open the next door, and there is another wave of monsters.

We give them the Gryphons welcome.

Thankfully we don't have to find out what the Scorier does.

The enemy buff each other, and use magic.

There is a veritable horde of them.

Let's start whittling them down.

Down goes a Thrusk as well.

A seeker comes forward and gets hit by Astel's Guardian.

Yvilde hits the Nightmare

And it splits into two!

Astel gets up there and takes one of them out.

Molis puts down a Seeker.

Astel takes a hit, but his armour takes the blow.

He then blocks the blow from the Nightmare.

Yvilde takes out another Thrusk.

The Nightmare doesn't last long.

And that's a wrap for this one.

Lynn gets some.... Rope? Really, you loot that?

Molis has a better idea.

That's not a nice looking monster.

On the opposite side of the land, the other group has a look at the Monument.

It looks like they forgot to ration properly – not the most thrilling choice, but it ends the update!

If it was a good morning, we’d be going fishing.

…Also, is it just me, or is the end of the civilization dialogue really weird? That dialogue flowed funny, to me.

Also also, I have never seen a spirit weapon be a downgrade! That’s unfortunate.

Yeah, it seemed like Yvilde should have had some more dialog there. Either that or Rath is starting to respond to things people aren't saying, in which case he really needs to get away from civilization for a while.

The group settle down to fish.

This takes them some time.

But the results are worth it.

And we may well need that extra health!

Yeah, this is going to be a rough one!

Let's take that butler down.

This takes way more actions than I would have liked.

Wardrobes are making Sommeliers now, great.

These guys are getting numerous.

Let's get to work then.

Down goes the Weldling – we're to bunched up to let that thing live.

I need to take that Wardrobe out, so I windwalk Ciara in there.

This shows her some new friends.

She's a veteran, so she does the job she's here to do.

Okay, this a new and terrifying problem....

She holds the line.

While to the south, the others have spectik problems.

Ciara deals with the Coachman's armour.

The rest of them are having trouble dealing with the weakest of foes.

Lynn's double attacks take one out.

Lark gets a strike in with a splinterblast, I do this knowing Ciara will be able to tank it better than the Morthagi.

Then the coachman rudely just smashes his way through my line.

He's now in the back with the support characters!

Lark tries to take it down, but only does a little damage.

So I have to use Graylee to finish it off.

This Watchman survives with one health left!

It retreats, wounding Ciara.

The Spectik however hit's Lynn hard, reducing her to one health as well!

Her attack does little damage, Lark misses it completely with her magic,

So Ciara is left on her own as Graylee has to save Lynn.

Ciara's good though, taking down the Sommelier.

The Watchman then wounds her.

Just die already!

It's left to Ciara to save her own rear end.

It's a victory, but this part will take some time to heal up.

Lark becomes a Humanist.

Molis gets some better armour.

Graylee gets a musical instrument.

Ciara heads to bed after battle.

And begins to dream – first is its nice, but then it turn.

And it turns weird. Lark is fighting some dream creature.

She wakes to find all is well.

It does leave Ciara stronger however.

Sommeliers are more armoured now.

I spend legacy points to stop them getting even more dangerous – that would have been a nightmare combo there!

Lark gets a nice necklace as we loot the battlefield and secure the sites.

While Molis continues to improve her armour.

Days later there is an incursion!

This time they are unleashing a double pronged attack! Both teams rush to build defences in their area.

They reach the north first, where they only get level 2 defences up.

How should we hold the line?

Yeah, they're all non-traditional fantasy foes (clockwork undead? dream bugs? minotaur cultists?) to say nothing of the array of weird critters in the world outside the factions.

Do you think this is funny?
The dream bugs seem like kind of an insectoid take on the fae. We've also got some quasi-Lovecraft stuff with the Deepists, but like the mechanical "zombies" of the Morthagi, they're all examples of how this game takes familiar fantasy tropes and puts a weird/interesting spin on them.
