Trump has already pled the 5th through multiple hours of deposition in his New York case. He has a capacity to shut up and not leak anything when it comes to his prized businesses. I don't know if he has the same capacity to shut up about being president and the stolen election. But even then, if the committee can't compel his testimony, why even bother with this political theater? Convince the DoJ to indict him for seditious conspiracy and use the mountain of evidence against him. That's how the courts work.

I don't even want to think about how ugly it would have been if there had been a massive counter demonstration, even without counting in the plan to invoke the Insurrection Act, though it's briefly fun to imagine the not-zero-percent chance of those loving cowards running away with their tails between their legs like they did in the face of the giant counter protests after Unite the Right.
