I like Gran Turismo but getting Project Cars was a huge mistake. I can't always be bothered to set up the wheel and pedals and this game is basically unplayable with a controller. Your driver robotically snaps the wheel back and forth 90 degrees no matter how careful you are.

I've barely touched GT7 since it came out because of how greedy it is. In GT Sport driving 26 miles each day gave you a free car, and you could do anything for it, like complete the challenges and licences or just mess around in VR. By the end of its life I had nearly every car and only had to buy a few of them.

In GT7 90% of the time you get pocket change. Unless you do the most optimal race over and over or loving automate it with remote play then you'll never afford most of what the game has to offer.

:haibrow: Ran into this problem in GT2 back in the day. I'd throw house parties and make everyone attending drive 10 laps on the 2 hour endurance courses to raise money

Game fun. UI is fine on the phone garbage on a laptop (maybe okay if my laptop had a touch screen). Free to play stuff also stupid and garbage.

edit: Lol my wrists hurt maybe I will stick to the laptop.

edit 2: I was wrong they some how managed to gently caress up the act of moving cards around. In any card game where it matters you can move cards around freely, in this game you have to do it in the right order or it won't let you grab them. Oh and dragging cards seems to have a smaller than expected hitbox so you can easily miss and struggle with that.

Lmao gently caress endurance races too. It's not even a challenge since you can pause, it's just boring and repetitive.

Some people were mad that GT6 reduced them from 24 hours to 24 minutes.

I can't say about the newer GTs, but at least re: GT2, the endurance races were bonus pointless because you were either loving thrashing the AI by the third lap (lighter wheels), or you restarted. Its why the house party thing worked so great - i didn't really care if it took them ten minutes a lap or if people got bored and walked away. Just had to drive in a circle two thousand times

I've always enjoyed the stories in Silent Hill games but let's face it: the gameplay was poo poo. Awkward controls, awful combat and puzzles that would make the average Sierra adventure game designer blush (you need to use a strand of hair with a needle to fish a ring out of a shower drain, and don't forget to dump the heavy case of orange juice down the garbage chute!). And the escort missions - and Silent Hill 4 had an escort mission as literally half the game. The atmosphere is completely unparalleled, though.

I'm optimistic for the remake, but I really hope they look at stuff like The Last of Us for how to make escorting and surviving not a tedious chore.

PT is the best Silent Hill game to date. Genuinely scary, weird as gently caress and no pointless combat to fill out the game.

Yeah, I'm guessing the combat is what's going to receive the biggest overhaul, since it didn't just age badly--most people thought it was garbage even back when the game was new. That and the voice acting.

But they did the HD Remaster of SH2 and the voice acting was somehow way worse

They redid the voice acting for the HD remaster? I thought it was just one of those bullshit "remasters" where all they do is enable higher resolutions and call it a day. Super weird that they would also throw in a new half assed dub.

Its a bummer they showed the RE4 remake at the same time because that game looks absolutely awesome. Capcom has some face tech which is somehow some of the best out there. Its like they faces have a realistic look but a cartoony feel that looks great and emotive in a video game.

Finally playing the RE3 remake because it's on sale and the gore is grossly well done. Dodge is weird but knife uppercutting zombies to death is pretty satisfying.

Makes me anticipate how good the 4 remake will be, years after this one.

I just replayed RE3 and I was kind of sour on it the first time for being so short and I payed $60 for it, but it's honestly great and I feel like it should be the gold standard for how the more actioney RE games should function from here on out.

Unpopular opinion MGS Rising: Revengance is overrated. I'm replaying it now and the camera is horrendous, like one of the worst cameras I have ever seen in a game. the environments are beyond bland and there is nothing cool to look at.

I get the appeal of slashing poo poo and the senator stuff is funny. But it's not a great game. I don't hate it or anything but I don't know how the hell it has garnered it's reputation. Also, speaking of games I paid $60 for that are 4 hours long...

I like when both fighting and running are an option. Limping to the nearest safe room and slaloming through enemies is more scary than having no combat, or one that goes “Boo! Game over”. Baldi’s Basics rules so I’ll make an exception.

Silent Hill 3 has rooms with lots of big monsters that discouraged you from just killing everything you came across like in the first two.

The last part of PT was great, even if I never unlocked the ending. However some of the puzzles leading up to it weren’t great, and nothing ruins immersion more than having to use your phone to look up a guide. Maybe Konami should have uploaded their own guide that spooks you, or have the game only pretend to pause and have the ghost attack you while you’re distracted.

Yes but also it's a great ride for the $12 Microsoft wants right now.

4k ray tracing with smooth frames above 60 really improve the cinema inspired feeling.

Seems absurdly easy compared to RE2R, outside of one boss fight.

did gt2 have proper endurance races? I remember it only having realistic length like 1.5 hour ones. the quickest way I found to make money was to do the 2 lap superspeedway race and sell the drag car it gave as a prize

Ash Lake doesn't have much of anything going on gameplay-wise but it has some of the coolest atmosphere in the game, that's why people like it. It's one of the very few places where background music plays outside of a boss fight and just has this really cool, eerie vibe to it. There's not much to do there unfortunately, but it's a cool place to visit just because.

Basically this. If you treat it as dlc for RE2R its not bad. If you want it to be a complete game no, its missing what it needs.

Capcom charged $60 for it, so it's not really a matter of perspective.

What is there is great. In some ways I like it more than the RE2 remake. But they really pushed the boundaries of a full priced game and I am by no means a time=value guy.

Treat it like a throwback to the PS3/360 gen, where it was normal to get a 4-6 hour campaign and a tacked-on multiplayer mode. Perfect for a weekend rental.

I wouldn't pay full price to get it on launch day though. I play through games pretty slowly since I drop them and come back to them later, so by the time I even start a game I bought on release day it's already 40-50% off.

Value does come down to how much enjoyment you get out of it though. There's really no excuse for Konami releasing MGSV Ground Zeroes at $40 instead of $20, but it was worth it for me and I've enjoyed completing it 100% several times. It was also great getting to experience how MGSV will play 1.5 years before its actual release.

With how many games are out there I just want story games to be shorter.

RE3 was a good length, and sure, it could use little forks like the original RE3 had, more unlockables maybe, but I want more games that length.

$ to time ratios are stupid. You can play f2p games forever on a treadmill.
