In true Dutch fashion, the Dutch FA have now cancelled the follow up OneLove campaign event in the Eredivisie because a couple of captains have refused to wear the rainbow armband and "the focus shouldn't be on who wears the armband and who doesn't." 👍

That and talking about their historical role in the slave trade.

What's even better is how defensive they get about it.

100% Agree.

With this kind of stuff, the bigots/morons/ideologues who refuse to do it should have a spotlight on them, and they need to be prepared to explain themselves publicly. Also, they shouldn't get to hide behind "for religious reasons", coz, whilst I am not a Biblical/Koranic scholar, as far as I know there is nothing in either book specifically against homosexuality.

I’d argue that regardless of the political campaign, your employer shouldn’t be forcing you to support them.

What about an armband calling for an abortion ban?

Besides, I think anyone could successfully argue that they’re refusing to wear the Onelove armband solely based on the design being really ugly.

I don't know about the Qur'an but there definitely is stuff in Leviticus and Romans condemning homosexuality and being trans but any legitimate scholar would argue that the commandment to love thy neighbour supersedes any mortal judging another in God's stead.
