He has consistently objected to it being called that so I would be very surprised if he would have suggested it. The article he wrote is this one: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/oct/17/truss-hunt-activists-unions-tory-austerity The guardian thing in the tweet is apparently just what they have called the page regarding their letters they have recieved about it.

Man covid isn't just a flu (duh), this thing really laid me out, running fever every day since tuesday, today I feel a little better. It also wiped out my sense of smell and screwed up my sense of taste. I started doing more desperate stuff like firing up the sauna and sitting there while throwing water on the rocks to really steam my hams. It's not recommended to go to the sauna if you're sick but I did it anyway, it cleared my head for a while. Found my SOs neti pot this morning and tried that and it was surprisingly effective, now I can detect faint smells from stuff like coffee and such. The only good thing about this is I can't smell my own farts. As for glasses chat a few pages back, I believe I got varifocals in 2020 and I really like them. They cost me a shiiit ton from the optician though, got astigmatism on top of everything. I would like to get a cheaper pair to use in the shop and such, but I probably need to update my prescription. But the second I put them on it felt natural to me, never had a single issue with nausea or anything.

It also wiped out my sense of smell and screwed up my sense of taste. For what it's worth I just got over that a week or so ago. Felt like a regular flu with bad elements (big headaches, fever, constant exhaustion if I exerted myself to the point of having to sleep for hours in the middle of the day). Losing the sense of smell was weird - I was just doing laundry one day and then realized I couldn't smell anything. I'm a base rear end bitch so I thought eh, no biggie, now. It came back after a week or so. Just rest and stay hydrated for days, blow your sick leave on this, it'll be worth it. You'll beat it. And don't go to the sauna you loving psycho.

I'm trying to decide if that is the ideal solution to having the fever shakes, or whether you would just boil your brain out of your ears.

I went when I didn't have a fever so I wouldn't unduly raise my body temp (it tends go up and down), I also poured cool water over myself regularly, while sitting in the steam. It's very pleasant combo. I mostly wanted to fight my congestion. edit, things feel so bleak without smell by the way, even the sauna experience is lessened without it. I can't smell the steam with that distinctive smell it has from the rocks, can't smell the birch firewood as I loaded the stove. I'd think so, a sauna doesn't need complex construction or any insulation. At my work we make barrel saunas amongst other things, got one low-profile model that stands up, takes very little room in a garden. But not cheap...

Genuinely IMO I think it's hard to tell, the polls are almost certainly not correct just because they are basically only workable for "normal" levels of change, they can't accurately model massive swings and the per-seat maths that give you the tories being in fourth place behind the lib dems, also don't really handle those sorts of swings. But they are historically unpopular, it is possible starmer could win by default even if the tories pull their finger out and he fucks it up. It's not likely to get any better between now and xmas.

Pretty sure that the Tories could still scrape up a majority if push came to shove. Especially if the legend was back in charge and doing some populist poo poo like not crippling everyone with gas bills, and stopping mortgages from spiralling.
