I don’t know where they’ve all gone, but if there’s on now in November with more of the local lower touring car and GT classes, that might be fun to see.

I think it was at the International a few year ago when they were running unbop'd GT3s to break the 2 minute barrier.

They close the roads for racing more than they used to, because the resident access has become a lot better - the problem used to be for inside the circuit and near The Cutting, both now have 24hr access even on race weekends. The track also gets partial closure for hillclimbs and there are club supersprint days. algebra testes posted:Bring back the Easter Weekend bike races. AFAIK, when the race moved from the October Long Weekend due to the rights issue (Sven had the broadcast rights for the race ont he long weekend which Supercars couldnt get back) the police had a hand in making sure that even when the TV rights returned to Seven, the race wasnt moved back to the traditional weekend because of "Operational reasons" aka adrop in drunken fights. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bathurst_motorcycle_race_riots https://www.whichcar.com.au/features/a-brief-history-of-riots-at-bathurst

Oh, so that’s the car up in the tree It seems like it has been the time to have a discussion about the safety standards for British circuits that aren’t Silverstone. Or, conversely, if anything faster than GT4 should run there.

Speedway, big power bikes, no brakes, airbags around the track to catch people who crash, 4 laps, huge track evolution over the course of the event which is run as a knockout tournament. It rules. There’s also ice speedway which is the same thing but on ice ovals.

algebra testes posted:https://twitter.com/FIAWEC/status/1586450460520509440?t=mqSDrupnO7utqs05pvkKJA&s=19 So Ferrari is WEC only next year, BMW is IMSA only, and it’s likely (confirmed in BMW’s case) they’ll add the second championship from 2024. Sounds like they gave a “not talking about that” at the 499P launch. No announcements as of yet. Considering parts supply issues, there will be regulars in IMSA not running in Daytona because their new GTPs won’t be ready (I think the private Caddy is one?). The other factor is IMSA’s marketing requirement from OEMs, and that they don’t necessarily want anyone coming over for just the 36 Hours of Florida. Or, I guess specifically Daytona, doing both parts of Super Sebring with one car/driver crew sounds like suicide. The wild card would be Glickenhaus, but they haven’t announced anything for next year. I think we’ll have a greater chance for some one-offs in future years, though.
