here come the planes
i'm finally cleaning up all the non-ARR tribe quests and am a little confused about how the ARR quests work in terms of lower-leveled jobs? it looks like the quests at (say) the kobold camp are minimum 41 but I could still attempt to pick it up at 32 (my lowest job). will the quest still be 41 difficulty, or does it sync like the others? if I'd attempted to take it, would it have errored out? do the ARR tribe quests not lock you out into the job that picks them up, and I should just run them as a high level job and turn them in on the lowest for that tiny XP boost?

They don't sync, and you'd have to be 41 to turn them in. You can do them on a higher level job, but you need to be 41 to turn them in.

Unless they deviate from their plan presented in the 10 year stream earlier this year, it'll look something like (aside from obvious new msq and trials)

6.3 - 2nd 24 man, Tataru's Grand Endeavor, Trusts for remaining HW dungeons, Island Sanctuary update (maybe in a midpatch)
6.31 - New Ultimate
6.35 - Crafting tribe quests, new Deep Dungeon, Hildebrand
6.4 - 3rd 8 man raid/savage, Tataru's Grand Endeavor, Trusts for most of 4.0
6.45 - Criterion dungeon 2, Hildebrand
6.5 - 3rd 24 man, Tataru's Grand Endeavor, Trust for the rest of 4.x.
6.55 - Criterion dungeon 3, Hildebrand

Somewhere in 6.4 and/or 6.5 - New Island Sanctuary area

What about relic weapon steps, is that something we have any idea about how they'll be doled out?

Vitamean
May 31, 2012

You can generally expect the weapons to hit ilvl 630/635 around 6.35 or 6.38, and the max ilvl for Endwalker in 6.55 or 6.58, but as for specifics we don't know yet. They might introduce a middle step in a major patch, they might not.

BLU has insane levels of AOE potency, especially at lower levels. They don't need to just rely on Ram's Voice + Ultravibration.

Launcher and Missile can do a lot for those that aren't immune to death (Missile especially on bosses).

ARR and HW bosses also get completely deleted by the BLU opener too. They weren't built to handle those Nightbloom ticks.

I still haven't even gotten to 50 PotD and I wanna see the plot and try out Heaven on High. What are the best jobs for it? Something tough and self-sufficient like WAR? Or maybe MCH so I can engage stuff at range without worrying as much about traps?

If all you're trying to do is get to the level 51 checkpoint, you can literally just play whatever. You can queue into parties of 4 and it doesn't really make a difference in those stages at all.

How would that work? It takes ~3 days worth of dailies to advance to the next stage and most people are going to be on the 3rd stage now. We shouldn't be seeing mounts until Tuesday at the earliest.

The daily and weekly resets are ten hours apart for some reason. Servers go live at the weekly reset, so there's an extra ten hour "day" that you can do dailies during if you're up early enough

Like almost every beast tribe there's probably a quest where you ride it around doing a thing for the daily at a certain tier. People that got the extra day in before weekly reset after the patch are a day ahead and on the next tier where the quest has a chance to start appearing in rotation.

Maguoob

Yeah people are seeing the daily mount, which is the same as the actual mount. If you did dailies on patch day before the daily reset you can get the quest that uses it now.

Probably not 100% safe but Angelus is a deep dungeon specialist (solo clears with every job except Astrologian, where they failed at 199) and MCH is the best job for PotD I believe. Probably the same sort of odds of clearing as any other hard speedrun/challenge category.

Seven hours between weekly and daily reset: currently 1AM Pacific on Tuesday for weekly reset and daily reset is at 8 AM.

if you check the submission hes only doing 171-180, as a demonstration of what high level potd looks like to the viewers of agdq. even if you ignored the issue of marathon safety (which you can actually do a bit, gdq lets you submit weird impractical categories if its in the interest of safety), they dont have time for the whole 13 hour hog lol.

Based on the Lodestone rankings, AST is the hardest job to solo Deep Dungeons with. Only one person has managed to get to 200 on Aether, where Angelus is. I assume you just run out of time as AST because you can't do damage fast enough to clear floors. MCH on the other hand, all 25 of the top-ranked players have made it to level 200.

I've managed level 70 solo in HoH as GNB but I messed up boss mechanics and I haven't gotten that high since. I'd need tons of prep time to get my aetherpool back up to do PotD because I spent a bunch on glams.

After getting that quest, it's probably moving up to one of my top five mounts, if not number 1 (when I'm not using the speed boost from the SDS Fenrir), when I unlock it.

Not only is it small and shrinks you down (which must be super small for the lalafells), but while moving it has your character do the flying animation from the Antitower/Excitatron 6000, which is something I've wanted them to put on a mount for a long time now.

Things can get spicy if you're a PotD baby around 30-50 and overpull and any tank can pull comfortably to non-trapped space to empty a new room with their obligatory ranged attack. It's also nice to have survivability spikes if a boss surprises you, though any class with some self healing will feel about as good.

If a queue pops with any party then 4 people should be able to steam roll it and if you have a friend that can heal or you heal for them it really smooths over trap mistakes to pop a heal and a pair of esunas or to /pet you when you get turned into a toad.

I tried soloing potd and got to the lvl 90 boss, there's so much time involved that can be evaporated from a single mistake. hell, i can't even get myself into a party cause they always want to do it all at once and i cannot handle six hours. HoH is definitely more my jam, you can see the endpoint clearly and feel like you're making progress.
