PLAYing Hulk Buster there.

Got that bit.

I figured it was a standard non-keyword buff on a random card at the played location followed by Destroy targeting itself with a little razzle dazzle graphic for flavor purposes.

Are there other Merge cards?

Some of the merge interactions are confusing to me. Like if you play Hulkbuster at the "when you play a card here, put a copy somewhere else" and it merges with Nightcrawler, it puts a copy of buffed Nightcrawler at another location, not Hulkbuster

Here's a fun one: Odin mirror match, no Kamar-Taj on the board. I play Scarlet Witch, she makes her own Kamar-Taj.

On turn 6 I have priority, play Odin, and I get the double effect even though Scarlet Witch changes the location. My opponent also played Odin, but didn't get the effect.

get rekt

Are there any cards/locations that target only 3-cost cards specifically? Curious if they'd affect Hulked-Nightcrawler

My experience with Scarlet Witch has been any effects that will trigger from the original location still trigger. Since you flipped first, that was no longer the case for opponent.

Spent way too much time crafting decks, lost more than I won.

Put together a deck with cards I never used because I thought they were terrible, won more than I lost.

Clearly this game is broken, as it does not recognize my tactically strategic (strategically tactical?) brilliance.

Yeah, I said that. I shouldn't have phone posted and made a better one later but yeah I did say you get all the cards.

Let's make a deal.
Hulkbuster has a lot of fun little edge cases. Personal favorite, using Hulkbuster on itself at Cloning Vats (puts a copy of the card you played in your hand). You can combine that with Deadpool and/or Venom for extra fun.

That is apparently the next update to the system; new currency you earn called "collector's tokens" and there's a rotating section in the shop with a rotating selection of unowned . Collectors tokens will be free but who knows what the rate will be like

Not right now, but there has been a card datamined that merges all four cards at its location when the location is filled.

E: someone helped me out and I was slightly mistaken - it's the new version of Klyntar, and it merges all cards there into a Symbiote after turn 4.

Anyone got any good pool 1 self destruct builds/advice on using them? I’ve got one going with Squirrel Girl, Nova, Angel, Carnage, Blade, swordmaster, Lady Sif and Apocalypse plus some filler.

Not sure if I’m missing something (tactically or in terms of key cards) but it just seems finickier than other deck styles and not sure about the synergy of Carnage and Nova in the same deck as I need to use Carnage to destroy Nova, but Nova wants lots of low cost card in other locations while Carnage wants lots of low cost cards in the same location as Nova to eat.

Discard isn't destroy, so you're trying to do two decks at once. Destroy doesn't really take off until Pool 2 though, when you get Skillmonger, Bucky and Sabretooth. And really you need Mysterio, Death and The Hood from Pool 3.

Pool 1 Destroy you should probably focus on janky one drops with good On Reveals. Something like:

Angel, Nova, Elektra, Korg, Squirrel Girl
Mister Sinister, Carnage, Angela, Wolverine
Ironheart

That leaves two flex slots, which could be Deathlok and Moon Girl for more consistent Novas and a spammy turn 6, Ka-Zar and another good 1-drop like Yondu, or White Tiger and Wolfsbane for another way to make a big lane.

It loving sucks not being able to gun for the deck you want. The way the pools work also mean that you straight up can’t play certain archetypes until a certain point.

I think angel isn't worth it. The deck sizes is too small. By turn 2 you will have draw 5 cards with 7 left in the deck so at that moment angel slightly favored but after that he just is bad. And you really don't want to carnage turn 2 so you also never have a moment with angel having good odds of triggering.

Edit: also Wolverine works with both discard and destroy. And a hulk buster Wolverine will keep his bonus stats.

Always +2 for Carnage

Carnage - On Reveal: Destroy your other cards here. +2 Power for each destroyed.

Venom however would get the full +7

Venom - On Reveal: Destroy your other cards at this location. Add their Power to this card.

Cards are collected in random order, but you will always get all the cards from a given set before you get any from another. These sets are known as Pools. Pool 1 has 46 cards and is collected between CL18 and CL214; Pool 2 has 25 cards and is collected between CL222 and CL474. Pool 3 has 72 cards and is collected from CL486; this is also the point where you stop receiving a guaranteed new card at an interval. So while Pools 1 and 2 are roughly equal in size to Pool 3, Pools 1 and 2 take a total of 456 levels to obtain and Pool 3 takes around 2500 levels. However, Pools 1 and 2 do contain enough staple cards and archetype backbones to create competitive decks.

They're also adding a new free currency called Collector Tokens that can used to buy randomly appearing cards from the shop. I assume the cards can be outside of your current pool, so even new players can get their hands on some pool 3 cards without grinding. Devs have also said that after collector tokens are added, they will start adding a new card to the game every week, which means that pool 3 is going to start growing pretty significantly.

I've been hooked on this game since it launched last week and, after a while puttering around 50, burst up to 70 in the last two days with this pile at CL273:
(1) Ant Man
(1) Squirrel Girl
(1) Iceman
(1) Nightcrawler
(1) Rocket Raccoon
(1) Uatu the Watcher
(2) Angela
(2) Mister Sinister
(3) Wolfsbane
(4) Ka-Zar
(4) White Queen
(5) Blue Marvel

It plays really consistently, although idk if blue marvel is exactly worth running. Having such a low curve opens up so much combo opportunity and can really wreck a snappy opponent. White queen is indispensable - board presence, an extra wincon in your hand, and solid Intel on whether or not you should escape or not. Card feels almost too good.

Im at 35 currently, CL in the low 100s and this is almost one of the decks I'm going for. I'd consider swapping out something for Onslaught if you have him (you probably do, as he can really pump up Ka-Zar's and Blue Marvel's passives, making all your low drops stronger. He also buffs Iron Man, which can lead to some silly numbers, if that's a consideration

Has Uatu been good? He's basically Nightcrawler or Quicksilver without the move/guarantee, but I guess at worst he's still got 2 power and gets buffed by Ka-Zar and Blue Marvel

Pool 3 isn't going to grow further once Collector Tokens are launched. After that point cards will enter Pools 4 and 5, which can only be bought with CTs. Once you've got the last Pool 3 card from the ladder - and possibly before - you'll have a chance to get CTs from further laddering.

I really ought to experiment with Onslaught. I do like the ability to double spell on turn 6, but it's possible he answers questions that my deck otherwise doesn't.

As for Uatu, hell yes definitely play him over quicksilver. The potential for an information advantage on the first 3 turns can help you stack to blow out your opponent or play around difficult locations. It's also great for mind games.

Uatu is better than Quicksilver outside of Hela decks, but he's still worse than any other 1-drop if you draw him after turn 2 - which is most of the time. Even Misty Knight is better because she gets buffed by Washington (and Patriot, once you hit Pool 3). Knowing the upcoming locations is just not worth playing the bad card.
